I have 2 but can not remember the numbers... but they are a little different in the back grill, I think one is earlier and the other is a later number...

Don - any thoughts??? I've got #4 so that's no help in determining how many! Well, the database shows #1 through #68, so there are at least 69 with the prototype.

Thanks for the information Don! Much appreciated - rarer than I thought. Are there more 6545s than Delta 88s?

Yes - there were only 34 or so Delta 88s.

^^^
Is the Delta then the "rarest" of regular production Zs made within, say, the last ten years?

To the best of my knowledge the Delta would be among the rarest of production amps. There may be fewer offshoot amps like Super Zs, Bluesmans, etc, but as far as regular production amps Delta 88s are rarest.

Hi everybody .. I'm new to this forum and Im glad to be a member.
I have the model with serial number ending in 68. It's a blonde 6545 with a purple jewel. Given the information provided I believe it is the last one made ..

Hello to all. I just recently acquired my first DR Z amp, a 2003 15th anniversary red head 6545 serial # N17033 and it came with 2 JJ kt77 and 2 JJ ecc83, 1 Sovtek lps, 1 =C= ef86 and a solid state rectifier. All the tubes test good except the Sovtek lps so I changed it with a mesa labeled chinese 12ax7 that I had on hand until I can get me a new lps. It also has JJ caps. This amp is awesome and I have 2 Marshall heads a jcm2000 and a '74 superlead 100 modded by Voodoo Amps with all new caps and el34s and the 6545 smokes them both. do the 6545 have a bias pot?

I traded a recent Vox ac30cc with greenbacks dead even for the 6545. I am very happy with the trade. What brand and type of tubes came stock from the factory in the 6545? I'll post a picture of my new red head soon.

H do the 6545 have a bias pot? Congrats on the 6545 and welcome. Yes, there's a bias pot on the chassis; it's inside, not accessible without taking the chassis out. The guys at the Z factory told me to aim for 34 ma.

Thanks Doc, I noticed the 2 jj kt77 are a little loose in the sockets, but seems ok. I have a Alessandro analog bias meter with 2 sockets and reads in mA. Do I need to use both or just one socket to bias the 6545? Would it be safe to set it @ 32 or 33 mA to save on the tubes?
