I just received my MAZ SR. 2-12 Slip cover from Studio Slips. Very well made high quality and great fit. I hate moving my amp from the vehicle to the gig in the rain.

If you have any experience, how would you compare/contrast to LeCover and Tuki?

I have the Studio Slips and they are awesome. Tough and well padded... No question the quality is #1. Susan is great to deal with. Everything is hand made to order... just like Dr.Z amps!

Rick, The cover I purchased is the slip cover with a slight inside padding. Its the entry level cover which is exactly what I wanted. The cover folds up nicely as well. I have had a padded tuki on a Bogner and it did a good job. I wasn't crazy about it not folding up. I did have a custom slip cover made for a Fender 30 amp by Tuki. I like the workmanship of the slipcover folks better. I am not familiar with the LeCover brand. Susan is great to work with and cares about her products and awesome customer service. Maybe that's why Doc Z recommends Studio slipcovers. Thanks!

Well, I've got nothing but good things to say about Studio Slips.
Recently they changed their Padded Covers to have "no quilting" on the outside. It's a real nice clean look.
Susan is top notch - always wants to make sure that you get what you paid for.
And, in just my humble opinion, I think her stuff is better than the Tuki stuff I've seen. But of course, YMMMV.

I like padded covers but I hate that you can't fold them up and stash them behind your amp on the gig. I think they could be half as thick and still do the job.

billyguitar,
I've folded my Studio Slips covers up and stashed them behind my amp. They came folded, and I just made a mental note of how she folded them. I just like the quality and the padding.
Obviously, based on your post, mileage varies.

I've got Tuki and J & L padded covers and they're really stiff. Maybe hers are a little different. If I get another Z I'll order from Studio Slips.

I too like Susans stuff better than TUKI.
As I gather she uses more natural filler for her padding that will not deteriorate with age. I think the TUKI stuff might not hold up as well.
The SS covers fold up well. I use two Maz amps live, and can fit both covers in my Furman pedal board bag stuffed behind my amp.

I like the Studio slips a lot. I like the zip closure...but I do like the fact that Tuki covers come in lots of colors... Makes 'em easier to find in dark rock clubs... and easy to shout out instructions to helpful loaders too "I'll take the red one"!

I just ordered a cover from Studio Slips for my new Maz 18 Jr a week ago. I had'nt checked this post until today, and from all I've read it reassured me I made a good choice. From visiting their website I was impressed and got a good vibe. Looking forward to protecting my investment with the new cover. Studio Slips seems like a very professional company!

J & L is in Salina, pretty sure. You're right they were at the Dallas Show. Jimmy and Loie Lewin. Jimmy said they were making covers now that open from the top. You slide the amp down inside and then zip the top flap down. Sounds good for heads and small cabs. It might be a little hard to do on bigger combos. Their stuff is very think and stiff. Jimmy's also a good player with good equipment but hasn't bought a Z yet.
