What's everyone's thought on the Z-28 through a 2x12 closed back cab?I'm trying to decide what to get for my Z-28 head.

the only 212 Z makes now is the ZBest, if you play mostly at home or small clubs you might want a 212 open back. closed is REAL direct

Z doesn't make the open back 2X12" any more? I was seriously interested in that.

I got a great deal on a Avatar 2x12 with V30/V30H for my Ghia that I couldn't turn down. I love the open back, and sounds great. I am saving for the Z-best also.

JWR, Z does still make a 2X12 open back cab. It's listed in the current Z price list as $699. I've heard there is a "Weber upgrade" to a Silver Bell and a Blue Dog for $150 extra, but it's not listed.

Sweet, thanks guys. I'd like to have both versions of his 2X12 cabs and get rid of my 4X12. But that's a long way down the road. I still gotta pay off all the gear I just ordered! That is a beautiful setup Madison, really classy looking.

Mine Hollow T is ash/ash, silver sparkle, maple cap with the M series pups, have you tried 'em? When I saw two coils I said nah..but man do they sound GOOD, nail Tele tones and with drive can really cover some ground...and I would say she's 6 lb.s or less !!! I was lookin' @ one like yours but this one was a bit cheaper...KILLER Guits no doubt. I'll try and get pics soon, or check out Charley's Guitar shop site, Favorites>Anderson alley>gallery and were at the top left !

you got an ash tray on that bridge?

Tom Anderson doesn't do the ash trays. He uses string thru, 6 piece bridges. Not as pue of a Tele sound but still sounds great to me. Mine has the piezo things in it. I wanted it because of the little rounded stainless steel pieces that the strings ride on. Put a little Big Bends Nut Sauce under the strings at the bridge and strings don't break as often but they end up kinked over the frets if I leave them on too long. Tele 62: What neck profile does your have? I'm crazy about the '62 roundback. One of mine has the standard neck profile and it's too small for me. Stainless frets?

Bluz, here's a better pic showing the bridge (with my son playing it). Like Billy said, no ashtray on TAG's. The saddles where changed out cause the stock saddles allowed the B string to slide off when used with the Hipshot. tele62, the Mseries pickups are killer from what I'm told. I've thought about upgrading to them. I did put a Fralin blues special in the bridge. I just saw the pic at AAlley Curt, NICE! the guitar ain't bad either

I couldn't get along with the sound of the graph tech saddles. Seemed to mute the guitar.

Billy mine has jumbo SS frets, the neck shape is stated as "larger V", I like it real well, the other one I like is a "+.050", I like that one a LOT. These M pups are real cool, TAG's are something special no doubt.

"Thanks...I think?!?!!? LOL " ...cute better half!... Thanks man, she keeps me in line ! She's a personal trainer and'll kick my rear if I screw up !! But as you can see, she's real supportive of my music, real cool after a 14 year marriage to someone else who was all against my music.

Yeah me too...what is that thing! Tas, it's called a Hipshot B Bender. I guess Will Ray of the Hellecasters is one of the few known players using 'em. There's a little bar that lays against your hip, and by moving the guitar slightly it moves the bar which in turn pulls the B string up to a "perfect" bend.

Aahhh! Thanks Madison, sorry for my tele ignorance. Figured that's what it was but I've never seen one before. I saw the Hellecasters play in Melbourne too, supporting no less than Eric Johnson. Slightly mind-blowing gig.
