I think your going to love it. It really lets you guitar shine. There is quite a bit of range in the amp form how you dial the guitar in, but when you switch guitars you really notice it too.

Going back through the pages here in the mini section, I see that Marc played around with tubes a bit - do you remember what's in it now?

Mike I'm embarassed to say its the same ones marc put in. Lol. Unles the doc stuck new ones in for me without me knowing. I never opened the thing even to take a peak. Although it was by far the best sounding amp i had, i played the others quite a bit too so never needed to change them. The peavy has a nice clean for acoustic and a drive channel for rock so it was more practical to take to practice. also i have to play my line 6 with headphones at home due to a sleeping baby issue.

I did play around with tubes in it but when I sold it to Ben it had the original complement back in it. If I remember correctly they were all JJs from before they started having problems. The amp is great for tube swapping since there are only two. Don't know how hard Ben worked it but I would get another EL 84 and try it. If it sounds better it was time to change it and if it doesn't you will have a spare. Always a good thing these days. If you have or can get at a reasonable price a nos RCA 12AX7 it sounds wonderful in it. If you want a little more clean headroom try a 12AY7. You can try any tube in the 12A whatever 7 family. Have fun.
