I've been dying to try my 2x10 cab with a 2x10 combo. So tonight I dug out the soldering iron, armed with 3 1/4" male plugs and some speaker wire. I made a "Y" cable and used the 4 ohm tap on my Ghia (my Maz is at the rehersal space). Well, my findings are that it's a cool tone, but it sounded like an amp with an extention speaker, not one amp. Yes, there was more sound, more air being moved, but nothing like when all 4 speakers are on one baffle. So if your debating between a 2x10 ext. cab or a 4x10...I'd say 4x10 for sure, if you want all the goodies. YMMV. ;D

Lefty, Did you ever try running both of, or all af your Z amps at the same time? I love the sound of my Jr. with 1-12 and my Sr. with 2-10's. Very, very THICK! Much better than using all of the speakers together.

No, but it may come down to it...rumor has it that the place where my new band (already established) has a steady gig at a place with lots of space for the band. If the other guitar player has enough room for two 1/2 stacks, I'm sure I will have enough room for my Maz Jr./Z-28/Ghia or any combination of them...maybe all three!!
