FYI- I recently played for the first time over the weekend a Germino 2x12 closed back cab loaded with the new Celestion Heritage G12H speakers and thought they would be absolutely killer with Z amps like the Ghia and the 66 since they are so warm and have the major bottom end. Absolutely killer for Strats, guess that's why Hendrix liked them. Saving up for a pair to go in an old Marshall 1936 cab currently populated by older 1989 greenbacks...I heard that Scumbag amps 'Scumback' speakers are also pretty killer and I think have a repro of the same G12H. I tested the speakers with an orange Germino Club 40 amp at FatSound guitars...
No Route 66 or Ghia in stock this weekend to get the full experience, but I am certain that a whole other set of cool British tones is to be had with those speakers in a closed back cab with the Route 66. I haven't checked around for the best prices but Guitar player had them in the near $200 range which, like the alnico blues seems high to me...anyway, check them out if you can. Very Trowery and Hendrixy tones through the Germino and the G12H loaded cab, played through a Mexican 60s player Strat I just grabbed off the wall. I am sure the Ghia would kick with these too....I haven't checked out the heritage G12M's (or for that matter the Scumbacks) - if you do please post!

I have Scumbag's version of the G12H's a 55hz & a 75 hz in my Z-Best...these are made by Ted Weber for Scumbag...Scumbag sent original G12H's to Weber & Weber "cloned" them ...I can't imagine the Celestions being better than these + they are only around $175...they sound KILLER!!
