Picked up my amp from Maple Hts. last week. I made a once in a lifetime boo boo while switching output tubes that cracked the center guide on the base of the tube and allowed me to put the pins in the wrong position on the socket. Blew the screen resistor, but Don put it right, as well as paying attention to the details. It just looks and sounds factory perfect. I am glad I made the decision not to replace the resistor myself. I am better with a guitar than a soldering iron! Also, the side benefit of the time away from my amp, and then its return, is the welcome home feeling of knowing what a perfect fit this amp is for me. If I had anything else I would be trying to make it sound like this to no avail. I've had it for two years with some of the best amps in the world, and it just flat out cuts it! I do have another amp that I love for its own EL34 flavour, but the Galaxie is home base for me.
