The replacement for the surf green head I sent back came in and so today I really put it through a workout before tonight's gig.
My fav settings: Hi switch on Vol wide open Bass 3pm Treb around 1 or 1:30pm
And yes, thats pretty loud. Its what I will use tonight in a med sized club. I might could get away with the zwreck at this place but I wanna try the new amp!
I started off using a 1x12 cab with the WSG Black Hawk HP. The WSG so far is my fav in the1x12 configuration with the celestion gold close behind. I could see myself switching back n forth depending on my mood.
Then I tried my zwreck cab loaded with a blue and a gold. WOW! Sounded freaking great. I will be taking the 2x12 tonight for sure.
Next I got to fooling with pedals.
For my country tone on my tele, Just the amps natural breakup + a slapback delay.
For my slide tone on my semi hollow gibson knockoff with P-90s The wampler black 65 on the gain boost setting with max overdrive. Nails the George Thorogood sound.
For classic rock with my tele Atm I'm using the Paisely Drive cranked a bit. I might look for something with a plexi sound but this will do for tonight.

Update....
The band was really loud last night. I should have mic'ed up just in case. In that same club I had run a prinston reverb on 7 and been loud enough but last night the clubs sound guy has us so loud and the M12 wide open into a 2x12 could not keep up. Sounded great tho.
After four songs a switched to the zwreck and proceeded to rawk at what was ear shattering vol in a club that size.
I did love how the M12 sat in the mix, cut through really well, liked my pedals and to my ear sounded alot like a mini Stangray when cranked wide open on Hi.
so note to self. Mic up just in case the sound man is on crack that night.

I love the Paisley Drive with my M12. It's my go-to OD at the moment.

Funny you mention the Princeton, I'm a Black Face guy, and was just thinking ... there's no way this is a loud as a Princeton, specially in Lo Mode, and with the tone knobs at noon or under I had my tone knobs at noon in Lo Mode, and could dime the volume in my house. But in Hi Mode and extra gain from my tone knobs, no way But I was just thinking, this amp kinda reminds me of a Princeton, but with more mids, and a smoother overdrive then the Fender. Took mine down to Austin Guitar House yesterday, and put a bunch of pedals through, it's really a good amp. I like that it doesn't fall apart, or get raspy as you dime it. Came home with a Mad Professor Spring Reverb, and a Wampler 57 to add some rawkus-ness to it

I think the M12 cuts through the mix better than a BF princeton. I find the M12 to be very clear and crisp, sits well in the mix.
