I am going to change the speaker. I do not know which way to go. Celestion Gold or Heritage G12H (75). I was under the impression all Celestion's were made in England, but they are not. As is the case with the G12M Greenback that comes stock in the M12. Thoughts?

What's wrong with the Greenback? I love that speaker, but then again, I'm not real picky when it comes to speakers. If it sounds good to me, then I don't really care.

The Gold and "Heritage" series are made in England
There are two versions of Greenback, and G12H30 I prefer the Heritage version better, some don't
The Gold and Heritage G12H30 don't sound alike at all. But I really did both of them, and both with the M12
I like the Gold for Paisley, Tom Petty and Vox Tones Heritage G12H30 for a smoother/warmer tone
I may put both in a 2x12 open back cab that I just ordered, and see how they work together
Outside of that, what type of tone are you looking for ?

I want a neutral sound so that I can utilize pedals. Made in china just does'nt cut it for me.

I think the most neutral speaker I ever owned was a EVM15L. It sounded good with a Fender showman but for everything else it was actually too neutral.

I'm using the Gold, and while it does work very well with pedals, its definitely not neutral. It imparts its own (very good) thing on the sound.

You may not be crazy about that G12M being made in china, but the reason the Doc put that speaker in it, is because he felt it was the most neutral to him. And it actually is a really good speaker once broken in.
NOTE: If I had my my way, everything I bought would be made in USA but that's pretty much impossible these days.
