My name is Gary Cox and I'm a member of Artful Dodger. Formally a CBS act primarily touring in the 70's with the likes of Lynard Skynard, KISS, Ted Nugent, Rush, The Kinks, REO...and the list goes on. Touring again.
Equipment? After 30 years I've found the perfect set-up...for me. A 1976 Paul Reed Smith guitar (built by Paul)...and a to be delivered Dr Z Maz 38 combo 2 x 10's...to be delivered April 1 in Cleveland at our concert.
Our band will now sport three of these incredible amps. Never thought I'd ever put away my Marshalls and Fenders.
I predict that Mike will be to amps what Paul Reed Smith is to guitars...a legend.
Look forward to meeting you in person Mike.

Artful Dodger at the Cleveland Agora - just like the days of old. Great band, good songs, great lead vocalist - Bill Paolicelli. Is he still in the band? I tried to find a website, but it looks like its under construction yet. Here's some info: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artful_Dodger_(US_band)kc

Hi Zdogma and KC.
Thanks for the comments. Bill Paolicelli is still the lead singer. Actually we are doing shows in Ohio with all the original members.
Z -amps? I used a MAZ 38 that Mike had made for one of our members (Peter Bonta) years ago. I had it running through a Marshall cabinet. After hearing the Z...I turned to the darn thing and said..."I can't believe it's taken 30 years to find you!"
The last time I got this excited about amps was when The Beatles came to America with VOX amps. Or when I saw Jimmy Page and Zepplin open for The Who...Page playing through triangle blue shaped Rickenbacker amps. I hear the bass player for Cheap Trick owns one of them now. Purchased from Page?
This Z amp can't arrive fast enough.

Hi KC,
Show was beyond our wildest dreams. Place was filled with people in need of some loud E,D,G...and A chords crunching their way into The Agora through the God of Amps...Dr. Z.
We had Z's lined up all across the stage. Amazing sound. These amps have the sound I've seen engineers spend hours on in the studio trying to get the perfect tone out of Marshalls Fenders...but with the use of the board....NOT WITH Z AMPS.
I'm now the proud owner of a combo MAZ 38 Senior with two 10's...blonde with light colored grill...and best of all the amazing custom wood front. Amazing work.
...all of my excitement was crushed when I heard that Dr. Z had just lost his right hand man Kurt. Now I find that Kurt worked on my amp. Probably worked on most of our amps. I've officially named my pride and joy "Kurt."
Everytime I threw the stanby switch and my Strat struck a chord...I imagined Kurt smiling.
Folks out there who own these amps...take pride in them and know that this great man helped to make it all happen.
KC...hope your show went as well as ours. Cleveland...what an amazing town filled with music. Look forward to meeting you next time we are in town.
Gary Cox Artful Dodger.
