I think you will enjoy the variable settings with the 38,brakelite will make it that more versatile.I just put one in my ghia 1/10.
I did a jam with ghia 1/10 (with/bl) and thought that I would have with been just as loud as other gtr.It was my first flight with it so...?
I ended up on 1 and was still able to get some saturation...I was buried on #3 setting though...fwiw,let us know your outcome, welcome to forum.

The Brake Lite is a great tool for the guitarist who enjoys subtleties of tone. I first used it with a Route 66. I found the when I had the volumes maxed on my '10 R8 there was a bit too much, harshness/gain. A bit of the nature of the beast ('50's wording I think). When I got the Brake Lite and played, I found the guitar sat in the mix better and I lost some of the harsh sound - enough to find it useful rather than annoying. Now I have an Antidote. It doesn't have as much harshness compared to the Route 66, but the ability to have my guitar sit in the mix may be improved. More interesting is the subtle tone shaping when playing alone. Now, I don't record and regrettably my band is very old school in its playing so we don't mike and mix our sound. So I can only hear these sounds playing by myself. There are tones that you hear on records (yeah, records) which I grew up with. The ones where engineers spent a lot of time to get "that" sound. They are there, sure the Antidote is the engine, but the Brake Lite is the tune up kit which allows it to purr, snarl, growl, and spit with subtle variations at the click of a switch which is real cool.

Reporting back after using the BL this weekend in live setting. First tweaked around with it at home. Took the recommendations that were given here and set my tone/EQ with attenuation engaged. Started at click 3. Then, after playing around a bit, I set it to click 2. What a difference it makes letting the amp open up another click. This weekend I was able to run it at the 1st click and it did great. I can certainly appreciate more of what this amp has to offer now that the BL has entered the picture.
Thanks to the OP for the thread and all that replied.

New to the Forum and to the Z Family (thanks to mkoo). I've already found found tons of good advice...particularly with the AirBrake vs BrakeLite discussions. I know that the AirBrake can get closer to bedroom volumes, but it's so dad gum big. I've got my "new" Maz 18NR running through a old MiniMass that I've had for a while, and it knocks down the volume a bit. Would the BrakeLite's attenuation level be about the same, or would it be an improvement?

Not sure how that compares to the MiniMass, but you may have that info already. Welcome to the forum.
