I'm thinking this would be an awesome dirty/clean blues setup, maybe with a Headbone to switch between them, into a 1x12 or 2x12 cab. Anybody doing something like this?

It could, indeed. Definitely a rig for a bigger stage.

I run an EZG-50 & SRZ-65 in stereo out of a Electro-Harmonix 2880 looper pedal. It's awesome.

Actually my hearing is just fine. I wear ear plugs when I need to and try not to play loud for too long.
Also, I mix bands and work in studios to make a living. Playing guitar is my passion and side gig- but I need my hearing!

^ That's good thinkin'. My Hearo's are actually pretty good, but 99% of the time I don't play loud enough to need them. (But, oh man, that 1% of the time is really fun.)

I've run two amps from time to time. Back in the '80's I A/B'd a Yamaha combo with a mic'd tweed Deluxe. I also had an Echoplex on the Deluxe. Most recently, at an outdoor gig, I've A/B'd my '65 TR with my Maz Jr. The Jr. has a alnico Tone Tubby and I ran it hard (no OD pedals). It's too much gear to haul and set up on a regular basis and most stages don't have enough room to do it anyway, but it sure is fun to do once in a while.

I ran that combo for a while and really liked it. I recently traded my Remedy for one of Mike's Prescriptions as the Remedy just didn't get clean enough for me (I run them together in stereo). Then I got the gas for (thanks Mike AGAIN!) for a 6545.
Through all that I finally ended up with the EZG (2x12 G1265) and 6545 (Z-Best G12M) and really like it. Of course the a Maz Jr thrown in there too....

I run a 6545, SRZ-65 LE and an EZG all together. The 6545 is the right channel in a stero setup and I use an EB 6165 stereo volume/pan pedal to float back and forth or blend the SRZ and EZG for the left channel.
I recommend the EB 6165 as opposed to a ABY switch. The ability to go all ezg or all srz or anywhere in between will change your life...
