I was just going through some old STANGRAY posts, WOW!!! what an amazing amp.!!! i know it may "DUBBED" a clean countryfied sounding amp due to the Nature that Mr Paisley was given the Honors of helping with the singing touches the Ray Offers, but i have to say, The Ray will Just Rock your Socks off. I have alot of Amps that COOK but the Ray is the WHOLE PACKAGE, What i like best is the way I can clean everything up with just my Guitars Vol, Knob. It inhales pedals, Timmy - BB Preamp - KLON CLONE!!!! It just cranks such Great thickness of Rock Tones Via 2 Ceramic Pre Rola Style Celestions I have Fallen In Love with this amazing Ultra Sleeper Badboy AKA the STANGRAY! Anyone else just LOving this amp?? ;D

A definite yes from out west. It's hard to find words to express how totally fine this amp is. I'm glad you're good at it Jamie.

It's my primary go-to-amp. In a current country cover band in San Diego (yes! country in Southern California) and we play 90% current, 5%classic, and the rest is classic rock in the fourth quarter for us. This amp has proven itself to stand up to every amp I've A/B'd it against. I play mostly with my 2x12 Blue celestian combo.....but also throw a 1x12 cab far stage left for the pedal steel and bass brothers . it carries a celestian gold. It just has everything I want. it covers it all. I throw a volume pedal between the board and the amp.....and cover the rest with guitar volume. This amp honestly leaves me not wanting more. I searched for years....years, and actually enjoyed the quest. But like any tone nut wanting another toy to satisfy my insatiable need for something "different"..... This amp has destroyed that journey. I've got some cool ones'.....but this amp is just, crazy brilliant. I won't even go into details why.

I LOVE the way the Ray, shines pushing it with stacked OD pedals, and then rolling the Vol back and it cleans up better than any of my amps I own, while I dont use the FX Loop it does fine with time based effects in the front end, I recently have been using a Flint by Strymon? i think thats who makes it, but I can use the reverb and tremelo and A/B my Super Reverb with the Ray running tremelo/Reverb and its Darn close to fendery cleans, I know some will find that hard to believe but its true! The Ray would be The Last to go if I were Forced to only have 1 amp, just the thought of having one amp LOL

The Ray does rock with the best of them. It's got great cleans and concert grand piano bottom end note reproduction using the right speakers and settings. I find that when the volume is past noon it starts taking on more of a rock voice and it cleans up wonderfully with the guitar volume or a volume pedal. For pedals a Tim and Barber Direct Drive or BB or BOR provides plenty of OD/Dirt goodness. The DD I own has the additional tone shaping controls and gets plenty nasty. The Ray Rules my Roost.

My Analogman TS808 is pretty finicky. With some amps it is so ragged sounding, but with the Stang Ray it provides just the right amount of mid boost and hair. With a tele, some verb and a little bit of delay, I was getting a spot on modern tele country sound without a compressor. I have a love hate relationship with compressors, and if I can achieve that tone without the undesirable effects of compression (diminish touch sensitivity, boxyness, yet another boost when I'm already plenty loud) I'm a happy man. Love it with my Timmy too, but the TS808 sounds better with this than my Two Rock, 1967 showman, or my Germino Club 40. LOVE the Ray.
