Hey! In May my band "The Cable Bugs" and I recorded an album in the Studio. It's called "Oh my BUG". We recorded 14 Tracks live in two days. www.facebook.com/TheCableBugsOur style is a mix of Rock N Roll, Rockabilly, Rhythm & Blues. My Recording-Setup: - Tele (Maple Neck, Walnut Body, Texas Special PU (Bridge), SD Seth Lover PU (Neck)) - Danelectro DJ3 Slap Echo (always on, both controls on 12 o' clock). - SRZ-Settings: - 2x12 Box loaded with one EV EVM 12L Classic and one Eminence Texas Heat (just the EV was miced with a Sennheiser E906 - Switch on 'Flat' and positioned an inch away from the center); The cabinet was also shielded with foamwalls to reduce its influence on the other mics in the room I didn't use any other pedals, just amp, delay and the guitars volume-knob. The volume-setting of the SRZ might seem a bit low, but there was no other option, because we recorded everything live in one room, except for the singer (he's also the Rhytm-guitarplayer) and the Cabinet was already isolated and still very loud. Anyway I have to praise the Master Volume of this amp - the low setting didn't harm the overall sound and the guitars dynamic. The rhythm-guitarist used a Gretsch Electromatic 5120 and a Fender Blues Junior (Tweed Edition) - miced with a Sennheiser E906,Flat-Setting,offcenter. On our Facebook-Page you can listen to the Recordings. Go to the section "Band Profile" and enjoy. www.facebook.com/TheCableBugsThe files are just teasers. LOVING THE SRZ TONES!!!!! Cant beleive the Vol and Gain were that As long as the volume is at about 7-9 on the dial you wont ever have a bad sounding SRZ But the Volume at 2-4 is AWESOME!!!! Airbrake ;D

I experienced first hand, that the settings in a recording situation are totally different from a live environment. On stage the gain is on noon and the volume definately higher - but I get the same rockabilly-spank/twang! I also reduce the bass in a live situation. Those are tricks I learned from studying Buddy Whittingtons thread. The SRZ is the best and most reliable amp I ever had - didn't need an Airbrake. The sound really speaks for itself.
