On my 2001 Carmen Ghia, I noticed a 5w resistor soldered directly to a capacitor between pin 7's on the output tubes. I think pin 7 is the filament.
This looked a little odd to me as it doesn't fit in with the excellent build-quality in the rest of the amp.
I purchased the amp used about a year ago.
I was wondering if this is stock or if someone modded the amp. if it was modded, what was changed? Would this mod make it sound better or worse? I love the sound of the amp but I would like to try a stock Ghia as well.

It's the Conjunctive Filter. It's on both of my Ghias.

Thanks Bluzman. Is yours just soldered, lead to lead like that? Doesn't seem to secure since I am guessing that 5w resistor will heat up pretty good and maybe melt the solder? Am I being paranoid? I can always twist the leads together and resolder if necessary.

If it does, it's an easy fix. If it's been working, fine since 2001, I'd leave it alone unless somebody from the factory chimes in and says otherwise. Mine are basically between the two sockets like your picture.
...and you're welcome!!
