I searched the best I could and didn't see anything on this subject. I want to replace the speaker in my Maz 18 combo (w/ reverb), so here's a few questions since I've never done this.
1) Are the fasteners / nuts attached to the baffle, or can they possible fall out when removing the screws?
2) ...So, if they could fall out that means you need to remove the front grille beforehand. How easy is that? Any tips?
3) Removing the tubes seems obvious. But for the reverb tank, are there any "gotchas" to look out for. I guess I could buy a right angle screwdriver or use a socket wrench to get those two screws at the bottom.
Seems like lots of people here are swapping speakers all the time, so thanks for any help.

Look in the back of the Combo and it's right there. Just unscrew. I have done it with old and new combos and just unscrewed without any real issues. The only issue was I needed a 2" putty knife to gently pry the speakers off the baffle as they were stuck a little bit. Then when re-installing speakers use even pressure all around. I tighten like installing a wheel on a car... crisscross.

I have now tried a number of speakers in my Maz18 combo and had to just gently "rock" the speaker once I had removed the screws as it was slightly stuck to the baffle. I have had no problem since so only just the original speaker. Rather than remove any valves I just unscrewed the lower back panel to give me room to lift the speaker out. Liked it a lot with a Greenback in but have settled on a G12H Heritage low res version.
