Has anyone tried something other than the JJ 6V6 in their Jaz? If so how did they sound and perform?

Here is what I've found. The JJ 6V6 is not a true 6V6. If you use any other brand 6V6, NOS tubes included, they will probably redplate since the amp was designed to use the JJ's which are closer to a 6L6. I wouldn't even try anything else. The only other good options are to have the amp rebiased to use a true spec 6V6 or 6L6. I like the way the amp sounds with the JJ's and have had good luck with them so I am stocking up with them while the quality, availability, and price are good. Also, test each matched set in the amp.

I've used the electro-harmonix 6v6's. They sound OK, not as loud and lively as the JJ's to me. I'm using the JJ's but keeping the EH as a spare set.
