Has anyone had any experience with these mics? specifically the 100 or 200? We're looking to get some new mics at church and I've had my eye on these for a while. I've seen some reviews of these that all were favorable, and even heard some audio examples comparing the mics with Shure SM58 and Beta58s. To my ear in the comparison clips the 100 was very comparable to the Beta58 (but cheaper) and the 200 blew it away. but those were in studio situations and these will primarily be used live. So does anyone have any input? Thanks!

I just ordered an encore 100, just shipped yesterday. I'll try and remember to post a review when I check it out. All the clips I've heard, it sounds much clearer than a 58. Only negatives I have seen is the handling noise but we will see.

I have heard some of those negatives too. but they'll mostly be in stands for my applications and i kind of expect that since this series seems to be designed to be like handheld condensors.

I use the 58 beta live and it sounds great. It's clearer and more articulate than the standard 58.

The Blue's are great sounding mics but you're gonna have the gate the daylights out of them. The "handling noise" is terrible and in live situations, the "bleed" from the band is bad. But the beta 58 isn't any different. We have Blue 100, 200, and the 300 and a beta 58. The 300 blows everything out of the water.

The Blue arrived this week. I haven't had a chance to to a decent vocal test but I did a quick compare with one of my sennheiser's, the blue has a great clarity to it. Even with the EQ set flat it sounds really good, and with a few slight tweaks it really makes your voice come alive, it's nice and present. It just plain sounds good. There is some handling noise but I always use a stand live so we'll see how it works out.
I'm laying down some drum tracks for my new CD and I put the Blue on the snare drum. It actually sounds pretty good but it does pick up some peripheral sound, a little more than a 58. But it is manageable.
I'll update this once I get some miles on it but initial impressions are favorable. I picked it up on sale for $79.99 so it's a great deal for pure, great sounding vocals.

Update on the Encore 100. I'm really enjoying this mic! It sounds really great with a female vocalist, it accents all the right frequencies to get a nice clear vocal with a nice air and breathy quality to it. And I'm still impressed by how tight the low notes of the voice are. That's what makes it great on male vocals, there's not all that mud to try and EQ out.
The biggest and only downfall I have found so far, like others have said, handling noise. Quite frankly it's a b*tch with this mic. So if you have a dedicated vocalist that handles it a lot, you're sunk. This is an aspect which I think is truly unacceptable.
So my final verdict is, it's for an instrument playing vocalist, or any permutation where you won't be handling it while performing. That aside, it is a stellar vocal mic! Beasts the hell out of a 58 for sound quality and I'm glad I have it. I got it for $79 plus shipping so I am well pleased. I highly suggest picking one up if you find a deal because you will likely find a use for it, especially if you sing and play guitar. Vocals just sit in the mix nice with little adjustment.
