Has anyone had experience with tube life when running with the boost on all the time. I am wondering which part of the circuit is boosted. The nominal wattage is 15w? what do'es the wattage go to with the boost engaged or, is normal max output somewhat less than boost max output which would be 15w. I heard somewhere that the maximum boost output was up around 26w. If this is true, surely that would shorten the life of the el84s and should only be used sparingly. I dont want to screw my Blue

I leave the OD on most of the time and haven't notice any major shortening of tube life. I know a bunch of guys on here use the Maz jr and the Rx Jr either by itself or in pairs with no problems. If you search for 'Blue' in the Rx Jr section you'll come up with at least a couple of threads.
As far as the nominal wattage goes, I can't help you much there. I know that the RxJr to me is louder than a Ghia (18 watts), not quite as loud as a Max Jr NR (18 watts) or a Z28 (22 watts).

The RX jr is rated @ 18 watts guys. The blue will work with it it but not necesarily a good idea to dime everything with the Overdose on. All the time.

Thanks for the replies, I did check with the guys at Z and they said the Blue would be fine, I dont need to run it flat out to get the sound I want so I feel comfortable with running it on boost. I find that I need to run it close to full volume if the boost is not on, and up around 12 o'clock with it on. I feel the 'headroom' is better with the boost on.
