I picked up a used Mini Z the other day to go with my Z28. Been playing it in the house for hours. Awesome tone! I like it as much as I do the Z28. Just screams when you crank it, even at super moderate levels thanks to the built-in attenuator. Just loving it!!

Yea I just got to try my new to me 112 closed back cab this Friday in band type practice setting. I got a cheap cab from a forum member and put celestion 70 Ann speaker in that I had. sounded pretty good a little softer and I guess darker than the dr. Z 210. The mini was harder to get any usable clean sound but it was a lot lighter to transport. Also I had to crank the level on my ep booster for the solos. Sounded ok regular, but needed more volume with the 112 than the 210 for the solos.

I don't know how efficient the Celestion 70th Anniversary speakers are, but I do know that the Doc's 10's are very efficient, so that may be some of the volume level loss you are experiencing.
If you get an opportunity to try a different 12", you may find a different experience.

Thanks Tom. Its a good idea. I will def. try another 12 in speaker at some point.
However, despite being a bit softer (not much) I was still diggin the sound of the 112 70th Ann. alot! Cool rock and blues sounds, so.... I am in no hurry.
In the end we practice in a garage and the guitars are always way too loud anyway even with just my Mini. lol.
Also, I was thinking first, I would grab one of the Todd's pcns y cables and try both the 112 and 210 together at some point b4 I try a new 12in speaker. It would kill the whole portability thing so... again in no hurry.
