Congratulations garyh!!!!
Wonderful guitars, played one at Rudy's here in NY. Light weight, amazingly responsive and a great tone. And a steal. You are going to love it!

Fedex expects delivery to be Monday. Can't wait. It's going to take some serious willpower not to open the box right away. I ordered it from Toronto thinking shipping would be straight through to Halifax (c. 1,100 miles). There was a similar one in New Jersey (Guitars n Jazz) I was looking at first. However, apparently all Fedex stuff goes to Memphis before being shipped to destination. Then it goes to Montreal. Oh well, I waited 14 weeks for my Maz. I guess I can live without it for a couple of days more. For those interested in these guitars, here is a good site to have a look at the models. I find it better than Eastman's own site which hasn't been updated for awhile (doesn't have the model I bought on it). There are some cool thinlines which I was also thinking about, both single and double cut, fully hollow or with center block. www.gbase.com/Stores/Gear/GearList.aspx?GS=Y&SF0=12&SD0=1&SF1=8&SD1=1&Keyword=Eastman&TF=1&TI0=13They also have a thinline model called the El Ray with no F-holes that was designed by premier builder Otto D'Ambrosio. It's supposed to be incredible with a sound as big as a full bodied archtop. It's also supposed to be slightly neck heavy though so that put me off.

It arrived at work today and WOW! I can't stop playing it. First of all, it's light as a feather and just looking at it now next to my Yamaha AEX 1500..............I always thought the Yami was a great looking guit. It looks cheap next to the Eastman. The photos on the web don't do it justice. The sound is wonderful and so responsive, notes ring out with warmth but also with so much clarity. The Yamaha sounds muddy to me now. The neck is to die for. I wish all my guitars had this neck. This is something I was worried about because some folks described it as chunky and it is wider than I'm used to........but yes it's just a tad wider but not chunky at all. I find I can do things I found difficult before with ease with this guitar. There is room for my fingers (or room for error?) I also find that I'm creating new licks over and over again. I think I'm finally hearing myself with more clarity and feel free to go in different directions than before. There is also less feedback; quite a bit less feedback. This thing is just classy as hell. It really feels like a pro instrument. It is very loud when played acoustically; something I wasn't expecting. Now I want another one. They make ES 335 type ones. I wouldn't mind one of them.
On the downside, the quality isn't perfect; some of the binding on the F holes is a little rough but that's about it. Drop over Bill and give it a whirl.
