I've heard that early Route 66 like mine ('98) can produce ghost notes.
I just had mine cranked well into overdrive for a few hours yesterday (NAD!) and am not sure I heard anything weird.
What exactly are ghost notes and what do they sound like? If I liked everything I heard, does that mean I like ghost notes? Hmmmmm....

They certainly are there. I hear them in my '99. Most say that with the amp cranked and playing single notes above the 12th fret is the most common way to hear them. Mine seems more prevalent in the 7-10th fret positions. Play as loud as you possibly can and play single note lines. It's a harmonic that doesn't exactly match the note you are playing.

thx edoetsch
I haven't noticed them yet I guess. I wonder if using an attenuator makes a difference. I have had it dimed but attenuated...
Does it matter if you're using buckers versus singles?

I certainly get them with humbuggies. It was recommended to me on this board to listen to "fire and water" by the band Free to hear what ghost note guitar sounds like. It is subtle but in a band situation you probably won't notice.
