Nice! Let her rip into that cab.
Ever think of getting a Radial Headbone to switch from one head to the other using the same cab? EZG set for clean and a cranked MAZ 8 could be a very cool pair.

No but my cab has a 4 and 8 ohm input on the back. Is there a cheaper way to get to that scenario than the Headbone? It is indeed gorgeous up here Dan, but getting a bit crowded lately. Might run to Montana Mts soon. Need more space!

Damnit. I switched from pentode to triode while the amp was at full power. Made a funny pop noise. Ugh did I damage my amp? Wasn't thinking at all. I'm think this should be done in standby only or with the amp completely off ... Still only had about 15 minutes of play time on this due to work ...

The only thing I can think of is to re-wire the cab so that it effectively becomes a stereo unit with two independent groups of speakers within the single cabinet. That could accept output from two amps and you could use an a/b/y switch to select the amps. Not sure this would be cost effective relative to picking up a used Headbone. I'm curious about the two inputs on your cab. I definitely would not plug both amps in without making sure the cabinet's internal wiring setup would accommodate. Do you know how the speakers are wired, e.g., in parallel? If you're not sure take a picture, draw a diagram, or describe it. We can probably figure it out. It may be that one of the speaker input jacks has a switching feature that shifts the cab from "mono" to "stereo." Here's what you can do to check: plug an amp into the 8 ohm input jack on the cab and determine which speakers are producing sound. Then disconnect and re-connect to the 4 ohm and listen again. (Make sure you match the amp output impedance and the speaker input. You shouldn't run from the 8-ohm output on your amp to the 4-ohm input on the cab!)

Yes it's still working. I only had my break from a ten hour 2nd shift last night to come home and plug it in though, and the last thing I did was switch the switch. Ok cool so it is designed to be switched from pentode to triode when the amp is on at full power?
I got the cab used. The dealer didn't know much about it but did say to just use one input. I'll try an figure it out. Thanks for the replies all. I actually have a few hours this am to sink into it before I go drive bus!

Excuse my French but, HOLY S#!T!!!!!!!!!! I forgot what soaking tubes hard was all about. Rich harmonic overtones, huge sustain, glorious feed back ... OMG! I had a Maz 18 years ago, but have just had the EZG now for 4 years. I have been missing out. Don't get me wrong I LOVE the clean sound of my EZG and messing with pedals on it, but there is absolutely no pedal that can make an amp sound like this, or make my Collings I-35 LC sing so sweet AND at a tolerable volume.
Only played around in Triode mode so far with my Collings and I have to say that this amp will be spending a lot of time with the volume knob cranked. The master works incredibly well, but in triode I do feel like you need to get it up to about 11:30 to get to the magic stuff. The break up is so choice. Played a bunch of Stones and Crowes in open G and found myself just letting stuff sustain and ring out till it died off just to bask in the glory!
I am a big reverb guy and am really surprised that I honestly love the tone on this amp with the reverb all the way off. It's obviously way toned down from the EZG style reverb, but it will give a nice subtle shimmer if needed, but I'm not sure I need it on all the time here.
Tone stack by pass is freakin' ridiculous in Triode. I am shocked at how loud this puppy can get esp with this engaged.
I've heard some people worry about the bass response on this. Maybe it's the 4x10 but I have PLENTY off bass here from the tone stack. I do not need to turn it all the way up. On my EZG I have it almost completely down the bass is so thick. Not that thick with the Maz, but plenty there for sure.
There is nothing like the smell of new tubes burning away. This amp put a huge smile on my face this AM. It's so different than the EZG too. Feels like a keeper to me. So awesome to get that sound without blowing up my ears. Unreal how many tone options seem to be hiding in this amp too with the 2 switching options, cut, reverb, and tone stack by-pass. Really a lot of fun and I haven't even busted out the pentode or my Tele or Strat. Can't wait for a full day off tomorrow so I can spend more than an hour with it. Haven't even come close to trying to coax a clean tone out of it either.
Hat's of to Doc!!!!!!!!!

Awesome! Seems like you can cover just about anything between the EZG and the 8. Enjoy that thing, man!

Just jumping in to say that every time i turn off this amp I am so pumped up. Truly awesome! Was playing some Zep slide stuff in triode with the EQ bypassed this AM before work. Epic.
