I have an Interstate incoming (thx rickbob!) and curious about speakers.
I'm currently running my CG with a V30 and dig the chime and grind.
Paired with the Rt66, the CG would be my dirty side with the Rt66 handling BIG cleans.
With this in mind, I picked up a 1x10/Ramrod Z cab for the CG and a Gold 12" for the Z open-back to run with Rt66. I also have a broken-in C-Rex kicking around that I sometimes kinda like and sometimes hate.
Thoughts on this rig? I'm into roots & noise ala Frisell, Ribot, Campilongo and am not currently playing with anyone else regularly. I can get fairly loud in my rehearsal space, but won't be able to crank either without some attenuation.

The gold will be outstanding with the 66. I ran that rig for a couple of years and only just recently switched to an EV12.

Very cool; I'd imagine the EV is deadly with the Rt66, but I would for sure be booted from my rehearsal space...I almost was pushing a 1x12 EV12L with an Egnater Tweaker... With the Gold I'm looking for the oft mentioned 'piano' timbre from the RT66, especially with the Tele. smolder I too am a Jayhawk, but way out west BA Arch '00

The KU Arch school has only gotten better since I left! LOL

I have to say the Gold and RT66 are a great combo! I'll try to get some clips up. So fat yet articulate. Very tasty!

PSA: Route 66 + Celestion Gold + Timmy = Tone Explosion!
Both the PRS and Tele voices are excellent through this setup, though the 1x10 Gold is a bit to mids focussed for my taste. The 1x12 is phenomenal.

I run my Route 66 through a 12" Alnico Gold and a G12H30. Sounds great with Tele, Strat, LP or 335. Just a big, thick, warm tone.

I'm using a Celestion Gold w/ my Rt. 66. Love it. The amp sounds a bit more brilliant w/ the Gold. Normally I run straight into a Analogman KoT v.4 to achieve a nice clean/overdrive boost. I'm also using a JJ 5U4GB rectifier which makes the whole thing sound sweet and juicy. There's nothing this amp can't do when you run it into a cab loaded with a gold.

Have had it for about 3 hrs, so havent got to crank it yet, but it sounds really big and nice for a 1x12!
