Well I sold my EZG-50 head and bought a brother to my existing RT66 head. So now it's 2 66's and 2 4x10 cabs.....all I can say is BOOM! I find it almost hard to run my pedalboard with my rig now.....it's so fat and harmonic......a CLEAN harmonic. Sometimes I think people dont realize that the RT66 has a pantload of headroom for 32 watts. I've played with guys that had 50 and 100watt rigs and I can keep up with them all night.

That is so cool. Is one an Interstate and the other a Route? Either way, what a mighty roar! I'd pay to hear that live.

Wow that must be a killer sound with killer tone. I loved my Rt66 but could never crank it up...and there wasn't a brake lite 12 years ago... :/

Thanks for the compliments guys. They are both Rt 66 not the interstate logo, however I hear those are cool! It's funny.... I used to always play with reverb and thought that playing without reverb sucked........The 66 makes me wonder why I ever played with reverb. Not that reverb is a bad thing.....it's great when needed. I just dial in a gentle slap delay when I need some ambience but I never have a need for reverb anymore. I've never heard an amp sustain so long with just a clean sound. I think the 66 does what an amp should do.......put the sound of the guitar itself through the speakers. My McCarty sounds very different than my Singlecut. It's no longer the scenario of "single coils and humbuckers". It's "the type of pickups, wood, etc" that shinesthrough with the 66. I hope the good Doctor keeps making this gem of an amp! Get your kicks on a Route 66!

You make a great point about the 66 allowing the guitar's character to come through. It really does a great job of that.

The 66 is the first amp that when I plug a Strat into the front, I can hear 5 distinct tones with each flick of the the pickup switch. Amazing

It's awesome how you can take a 66 and plug a guitar equipped with P90s, single coils (tele/strat), humbuckers and they all sound so distinct. The amp just has an uncanny ability to convey the instrument itself and not influence the sound. I believe thats why people say it's a very "unforgiving" in the way that you have to clean up your playing. There's no fluff with this amp lol.....good chops in----good chops out. Crap playing in---crap playing out

bluegroove99__this might be a silly question, but are you using any attenuation with 2 66's? I have one and can't get the volume past 9:00PM. Are you playing really be venues? I never use an attenuator myself. Thanks.

I never use an attenuator myself. Thanks. No I never attenuate the amps. I utilize the tone knobs a lot. If you want a good loud clean, I keep the tone knobbies below noon thus giving a little more clean headroom to the volume. If I need a little more "hair" to the amp I use the tone knobs above noon and back down on the volume. Super versatile amp for a trio of knobs. I love it when people ask me "it's only got 3 knobs?" no reverb?" I always chuckle Happy tone chasing!
