I had a second small club outing with the 8 this past Saturday. Set up conditions were less than ideal, but the Z cut through wonderfully. I started with the Brake Lite at 2 but after a few songs I was at zero ;D
Most of the evening was spent using my LP, the one with the Peter Green mod. Did about five songs with a Strat. In retrospect some EQ tweaking would have been helpful for the guitar change; next time.

I found the 8 to sound much better with buckers than single coils. You really do have to change eq setting with different guitars, but the Maz 8 lets the guitar come through.
I however never could get enough umph out of it, so I am in the process of trading the Maz 8 chassis for a Maz 18 chassis with reverb. So I'm going to have a Maz 18 112 studio model. I can't wait.

Yes, I seem to like the LP better than the Strat on this amp, which is odd because I love the Strat into the MAZ 18.
Unless we were being miked through a PA, I'd bring a more powerful amp for a larger venue. Both places I've used it at are small. I'll probably go with the Z-28 for the next size up gigs, which aren't miked.

The few gigs I did with it turned out well. I keep the Z-28 1x10 handy in case but so far, it's been good. The slightly lower volume is helping our vocals in a huge way too! Been using P90s live with only vocals mic'd.

The other guitarist in our group departed late last year. The additional space and lower volume in the ensemble is helping our vocals also.

Played out with the Maz 8 at our going away party/farewell gig last night. What a blast! The speakers not broken in yet so I paired it with another amp dirty/Maz clean but that withstanding, I really dig the cut feature. It really opens up the amp with a big crowd.
