I wish I could answer. I haven't played many of the boutique makers that a Zion may compete against. So I can't answer your question in relative terms. But in absolute terms, the Zions I have are incredible guitars for the money. Member SkyDog just picked up a sweet Zion on Ebay, and he may be better able to answer your question (as he's probably played more high end stuff than I). When he gets back (next week), maybe he can post about his new guitar... Here's his axe: cgi.ebay.com/1995-ZION-BENT-T-AAAAA-FLAMED-TOP-CUSTOM-ORDER_W0QQitemZ280008294503QQihZ018QQcategoryZ2384QQssPajh

Ok ...whos got a DeTemple, or a Callaham? I waited 19 months for a callaham strat. www.callahamguitars.com very nice too. I think the Callaham tremelo block makes a huge difference in a strats tone. Best 50 bucks you could ever spend to improve a strats tone. Guarenteed! chipstar
