Yep...I found a guy that was willing to trade my Maz 8 chassis for his Maz 18NR chassis..... The Maz 8 is exactly what the Doc says it is: " The Maz 8 is a full featured 8 watt amp that will give you an incredible range of shimmering cleans to full on rock action at reasonable volume levels." The reverb is the best I've heard in a modern amp. ( That new reverb tank is amazing!) However, I never really use reverb. The clean tones, crunch & heavy saturation tones really are just like it's bigger brothers, just at a lower volume. Also, this was the first experience with the tone bypass foot switchable option. I LOVE this feature. Awesome violin, singing lead tones here. One of the main reasons for me buying this amp was the size of the cab and weight....and that slant!! Love it- All this said.... While the Maz 8 is an amazing low volume amp, I found myself always wanting just a little more. ( Always been that way about many things in life- ) So this works out great for me. Now I have PLENTY of power and glorious Maz sounds in a small Studio cab. Hopefully Dr Z will make this cab an option for the whole Maz line in the future.

Hey, that's cool, Mark. Did you pull the reverb tank and send it along with the 8?

Wow, Mark, had I known you were looking to trade I would have jumped on that myself!! I love the fact that my Maz18 cab has a nice wood panel, and have debated selling 'cause I like it so much! But the 18 is just a bit loud for my home even with the BL.

^^^ Tom...I got lucky and had a friend that was willing to swap. Put an add up in the BST section. You may get some action. I was right the opposite of you...the 8 was not quite enough...but the 18 is just right- You'll love the 8!

They are indeed the same size. Be aware, however, that swapping a head chassis for a combo chassis is not at all for the faint of heart. It is doable, just a bit tortuous :-)

Mark So the chassis are exactly the same size? Hmmm, now I AM thinking... Yes... Mine was a straight combo chassis swap. easy as 4 screws and plugging in a speaker. Well beside's removing the reverb tank. ( 2 Screws and 2 plugs ) Like donh said above, a combo chassis to a head chassis ( or vice versa ) is a bit more involved if you want the control plate to be right side up ;D But that just involves getting a new faceplate and removing the knobs & retainer nuts for the switches and pot's.

and removing the power cord and it's associated wiring and fuse holder(s) (pull the fuses before desoldering!) (my everlasting (unitel we share some malt beverage someday) to the person that glued in the one fuseholder) and power light light and remember to re-establish the serial number on the 18 and the build date on the 8 and if the 18 is a head you re-locate the reverb tank and whatever I have forgotten since I did it . . . . .
