I'm loving the look and especially the sound of my newly completed SRZ65/ avitar open back 2-12 rig (G12H30 V30). Both in Red. I've wanted a red head and cab rig from the first time I saw Brad Paisley years ago on CMT! I'm not sure how many years ago but at that time I had never heard a tone any better or an amp set up look any cooler than that (this coming from a Rock/Blues guy) From that time I was obsessed with getting a red Dr Z. And now it's in my basement continually calling me to play (my wife loves this part) when ever any shred of musical inspiration pops in to my head. Thanks Mike and Rik for being so cool to deal with! I'm in tone heaven.----Chili

I have 2- Red Setups now, I would like to someday add the SRZ LE to complete it. I always get nice compliments on my red heads and cabs and my Z's Period. Thats a sweet speaker setup, If you are looking to further enhance that let me know I have speakers that gogreat with the SRZ ;D Im so glad you're happy with the new rig ,the #7 was amazing but you will soon find that having that head and running different speakers is amazing! Post Pics!!!!

Thanks Jamie, I'll get some pics up as soon as I can figure that deal out. I originally was using a closed back w 2 v 30's and man that cab had some thump to it! The open back with the G12H30 and v30 is more my sound. More open but punchy if that makes any sense.

BTW, I only had to pay $198 for it and it's been sitting underneath a stairway closet for over twenty years un-used!

I had a 1-12 combo JCM 800 from that same era that I absolutely loved it! That amp loved humbuckers and to be played dirty. The SRZ65 has a much nicer clean tone to my ears. You can even get your Knopfler on with it and a strat. What a great price for the 800! The SRZ is a more complex beast if that make any sense.

The 800 Marshall is what Led me to the SRZ, I was using a JCM DSL 100 and when I got the SRZ it was Like OH! S#!%!!!!! This thing gets those tones the 800 does but so many more in between, its so awesome to see peoples face when they go lastnight that amp sounded like a Cranked Fender Twin Tonight it sounds Like a Marshall sure it's they same one you were using lastnight?? . The JCM800 Hands dow is one of the Best JM put out there. Really Cooks! Great deal by the way! You are Lucky, Hang on to that one, does it have the Vertical Inputs? If so that's the one to have ;D

On Monday I just bought the matching closed back with the front port ext cab. It's a 1933 model. Now I get to mess with the speakers like everyone else seems to, I'll have the combo (open back) and the ext cab (closed/ported) and think it will be really nice. I'm real pleased with the whole thang! chey

First gig tonight in beautiful Sandusky Ohio! (about a 50 mile drive) We only gig about once a month so this has been too long of a wait to get this guy out of the basement! Hopefully the snow doesn't get any worse here in NW Ohio. I'm hoping the red rig will be able to warm up the stage enough to have some real fun.

The gig went great and the amp sounded righteous. It was a medium size club so I could crank it a little more than most of the places we play. I still only had the master at about 9:00 tops. Gain was set less than that, which even that low had a nice gravely clean when you I dug in. I got most of my gain from a Gristle King for saturated sounds and a kalamazoo set for dirty rhythm. The new partscaster was fun to paly as well. I used in on about 17 of 40 songs. This amp is very similar to my old combo but defiantly has its own vibe seems like the speakers in the cab have more punch and low end than the combo (even though it's open back. Oh and one more thing, the amp looked awesome!! My bass player said it was pretty until we fired it up, then he said it was a totally different animal!

That's great to hear!! Chili, I'm looking forward to taking my SRZ out with my New Beast The Remedy, I'm not jumping ship by any means, The SRZ is and will always be #1. The Red amps get so much ooohs and aaahhhs from even people that are just fans and dont know squat about music gear. I love red but my Next Z will Be Blonde I think Unless the Quantum Silver Will be offered Maybe next year? ? ;D 25 is ALWAYS! Silver Right? wouldn't it be cool to have a Silver SRZ!!! with that Cool lokking Zwreck Face Plate, Maybe I'm on to something appearance is 75% of the sale, I need to call Mr Z and brent get me a Job . Glad you're loving the amp! Cheers Jamie
