Hey all, I've tried them both and love them both. I'm looking for a good clean amp and will use pedals co od. My question is, is the ezg 50 a good amp for country guitar playing? Does it have that twangy bite? I've managed to narrow my next amp down to one of these two amps. The only thing I didn't like about the ezg 50 is that it was real bassy. The thing about the maz 18 I'm worried about is that if I turn it up loud I'll lose my clean sound. Any input on this topic would be much appreciated! Thanks, Jason

I like my EZG-50 for clean sounds at pretty high volumes. It definetly has more clean headroom than the MAZ. More of a Super Reverb type sound. It is pretty snappy, but not MAZ/Rx ES/AC-30 type of sounding at all.
The natural choice for loud country in the Z line up would seem to me to be the Rx ES. At 45 watts it has plenty of headroom and volume, but since it has EL-84's and a very "Vox" type design, it should serve a tele player perfectly.
I would say your choices are between the Rx ES, Stangray and the EZG-50. For country, the EZG-50 would do great, but I would still probably lean towards the Rx ES.

try not to think of the eq section on this amp like fender amps....its not the same....i usually have my bass at 8-9 o'clock...this amp is killer with 4x10 z cab. I will never part with it...i love it because it gives you the perfect blues tone with a telecaster and stratocaster....i use a air brake with it also. but follow your ears....not what you think the EQ should visually look like....cheers
