Not sure if the clips were made with or without covers. Best bet would be to contact Jim directly. He's a great guy who can offer lots of help. He should know if the clips were covers on or off. Personally, I like covers off.

Just to let you all know. Jim will be at the Dallas Guitar show so he will probably be delayed in answering emails until it is over. I believe it goes until the 24th.

I have used Fillmores, Darkbursts and Crossroads with and without covers. The solid nickel covers that Jim sells with his pickups are very transparent. There is minimal affect on tone as long as the pickups are adjusted and tweaked to get the most out of them. Plus, the covers help reduce noise and protect the pickups. I have covers on all my Wagner pickups.

Well my Crossroads came and my RS Guitarworks 50s Upgraded wiring kit. I love the sound of these in my Les Paul. I was going to have the change out done professionally but the guy I talked to was quite a jerk. He basically indicated it was stupid to change out the pickups and pots. He also indicated that all pickups are basically the same since they all get built by parts from the same mfgs. So I just went out baought the equipment and did it myself. Why pay someone to treat you like crap while working on your stuff.

Good for you. It is an easy job. I think guitar players should know how to do most of their own repairs and mods so they are more in-tune with their instruments and can fix things that may happen just before a gig, when a luthier or repairman is not avaulable.
