Starting putting the Maz 8 thru some paces this evening. Ears are ringing! Wow, the triode mode is just tremendous. I had no idea I would like it so much. Big, fat and creamy overdrive. Really very cool!! Now I've got to get that blue broken in . . . . Todd

Has anyone had a chance to put a Zendrive or other "Dumble-ish" type OD in front of the Maz 8 in triode mode yet? Jim

No pedal needed. Just engage the EQ bypass and crank the volume knob. Use guitar volume to get shades of tone.

I just came home from rehersal with my band, its my loud band I ran the Maz 8 in triode mode with a live drummer and my bass players 400 watt stack, no OD pedals and it rocked! I am having so much fun with this amp so far! Todd

I spent a productive hour plus last night in triode mode with the EQ bypass engaged, a slide on my finger and Muddy to guide me.

Todd, do you have your Maz on the floor with the loud band? I changed the blue out and put a g12h30 in there and it sounded better to me. I also put the amp up on an amp case, close to waist level, sounded fuller to my ears. After playing my Ray with broken in blues (you really can tell a difference) I want to put the blue back in the Maz 8 and keep playing on it.

Spent some time with a newly acquired Collings 290 (2 P90 pups) using triode modes yesterday. Stunning.

^^^^ Brian, I play at church in a big room with a mic on the studio 12 cab but I do also play in another band, its more of a hard rock trio, bass drum and me. We get pretty loud at times and i've had no problem keeping up but I am also not competing with another guitar so I cut thru the mix nicely Mike, sounds like your having some fun Todd

In Triode I can't cut in my band... pentode does fine. I am loving it though.

Count me in the pentode/high input group. It's the only way i can keep up with my loud arse bandmates!! Triode does sound awesome but can get covered by the band if they keep turning up! the other guitarist in one of the bands I play with only knows, pickups and pedals must be dimed to get "His" sound? Add a Mallshall 100 watt to that and you've got LOUD!! Not musical, just LOUD!! I wanna say something but I don't want the drama. It's just not worth it. I'm tempted to plug up my ol' Rt.66 and blister his ears......Hell, he might like it?

I do agree that triode mode is amazing but pentode mode will definitely cut through in the mix.
