Coined a phrase my grandpa used when he would stumble into something.
i took a page from other posts and moved the tone controls and the presence to 11. Was I surprised the SRZ cleaned up very nicely with the strat, punchy clean with guitar volume at 8-9 & the SRZ volume at 10 gain at nine. The Doc seems to have incorprated his interactive tone stack in the SRZ.

The SRZ always has a little dirt to my ears, but it really has much more to offer than tons of gain. I really enjoy that amp. There are a wide variety of cleaner tones available, with plenty of gain on tap if you need it.

"Forget it and play" tone happens for me with the volume just over noon and the gain anywhere from 9 to 11 O'clock. Treble always below 9am or.... pm... I can't remember, but does it matter.
Forgot to mention: Great subject line.
That should go into the SRZ description.

The doc personally recommended them. I dont know if ill ever go back. They are that good:-)). They act with more umph and definition. Gives the amp.that big Marshall sound from plexi hairy cleans to big JCM TONES THE BROWN SOUND. I.REALLY RECOMMEND THEM. They are an ezact replacement and i biased mine a little hotter . But keep it between 32-38ma . Or take to your local amp tech. Keep me posted when. You all try . They are somewhat hard to find try eurotubes or KC

Thanks for the vine Big Kahuna, I will see what I can find.
Does the SRZ have internal adjustment pots for the biasing or do i need to replace some resistors?
thanks k80steve

Yes it does have a bias pot. And requires checking when installing a matched set. If you are not familiar with the process and prcedures please have. Qualified service person do the work. If you have a nice true RMS METER that will measure the voltages and Ma . There is a ton of DIY from this forum . Myles or Benttop Steve both are great paletheras of knowledge when it comes to the tinkering of your Zamp. I also recommend the KT -77's too they make the SRZ louder and more Midrangish like that 70' s Bad Co sound
