We're playing an outdoor concert this Tuesday. Repertoire will have a lot of 60s rock and soul music. I was planning to use a Ghia driving a Z 4x10. Today, I started thinking the JAZ might be a better fit, especially with the 'verb and trem available.
Any opinions here?

I'd say the JAZ is going to do more of those 60's soul tones for sure, especially with the verb/trem, but also with that Fender-ness, the Jaz brings.....
Question for you tho, do you find the Jaz much louder then the Ghia/4-10 setup?
cheers

It's no louder than the Ghia using my settings for this gig, which keep it pretty clean. My guess is with the JAZ in full power mode the Ghia won't be able to quite match the clean volume from the JAZ.

Duplicate of what I posted in another thread here.We got lucky on the weather. It was a beautiful evening overlooking Long Island Sound. As we finished playing the nearly full moon was rising. Just great. Oh wait -- you wanted an amp report It was wonderful. JAZ was miked through FOH, so I kept it at half power. It delivered perfectly on everything. To be sure, our repertoire was heavily tilted toward early Beatles, others 60s rock and soul music and a tiny bit of more hard-edged stuff -- but just a bit. The JAZ's blackface leanings were entirely in the zone I needed. As I was setting up, our drummer said "wow that amp sounds fantastic." But it sure is heavy Read more: ztalk.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=jaz2040&action=display&thread=43112#ixzz1VJmNwTUg
