I just received my Brake Lite. I noticed a slight tone change even with the BL on 0. Could this be due to the extra speaker cable that's connected to the Break Lite?

Have a friend help you out by switching it in and out without you knowing which is which. You may be perceiving something that isn't there, which is very common when it comes to attenuators. On the other hand, please describe your speaker cables. They just might be changing your sound some, depending on what they are.

Steve, I'm using a Jaz20/40 2x10 combo. It's just the stock Dr Z wiring harness. I'll mess with it some more. It won't be the 1st time my ears have played tricks on me.

I messed with the Brake Lite some more and I'm really liking it with the Jaz. It sounds better than the MV on the amp. I shouldn't need to go much lower than two clicks. The extra clicks should come in handy on some of the low volume casino gigs. Also being able to play a little lower on the gig should help with ear fatigue :-)

Well that would be good news! Most folks who are willing to give it a fair shot soon realize it is a very useful tool in the tone arsenal.

Twangstang, I think that if you go below two clicks on the BL you will start to lose a little bit of tone...not from the BL changing it, necessarily, but from your speakers having a super low SPL. They arent getting to work like they would be with no attenuation. At least thats how it is when my rig. Unfortunately for those who do a video demo of the BL, its a hard thing to capture with all the video compressions that occur when posting a video online.

I don't notice any change in tone on any of the BLSA settings. Using it with a Wreck. With the Wreck at 1-2 oclock on the vol it's cranking out pure sweetness. The BLSA helps make that vol setting much more usable in most indoor situations. But even with the BLSA on 4 it sounds great...just not so loud. My perception...yours may vary.
