Well my G-System is working pretty swell right now. I got everything integrated - had to make a couple slight changes of plan though. I ended up moving the processor to the top slot in my rack to keep the cords short (hadn't thought about how long they'd have to be with the processor under the shelf). And I realized I couldn't control my Lehle 3 @ 1 with only two relay contacts - it needs three. So I installed my Rocktron Patchmate from the old rack days and used three of its relays to control the Lehle. I'm controlling the Patchmate via MIDI. Very cool - it leaves me with 8 more relay contacts between the two items, and I still have 7 loops available. YIKES! I only need three loops though, and besides, I can't fit anything more into this thing! Heres' an updated diagram: But the best part is that now that I have it all running, I've been developing sounds, and it's going great. Everything I need is right there. This is going to be great! The Stingray sounds awesome with a good chorus, and having a great reverb ain't too shabby either. What's really been cool is that when I step on one button, I have the BB Preamp come on along with the G-System's compressor with just a hint of sustain - holy cow! Fortunately, this thing has a GREAT noise gate - it is so transparent I didn't realize it was on all along! And I have an expression pedal controlling delay time on one preset - I never did like using tap tempo, so I do it that way. It works perfectly. I haven't taken the time yet to develop patches for my 12-string or my slide, but I'm anticipating this helping considerably for both, since every preset has a programmable parametric EQ. And I'm thinking a pitch doubler effect might make that slide sound pretty cool - we'll see. Honestly, this opens up a LOT of possibilities for live work...

No no Benttop, I'm here and reading and listening! And I do that actually twice... here on this forum and on "The Gear Page" forum! :-) By the way great sound and great improvising! I'm wondering what settings you have in all the different G-System sounds, so I wait promising on the Software Editor who should be released soon by TC. So we can share our settings on an easy way I hope. Please don't stop posting your G-System experiences... I'm here on this forum almost every day!

Thanks Mike - you have one too? I'm sure I'll keep blathering on about it since that is what I do... And I'm also sure I'll have changed the configuration several more times before a year from now. Because that is what I do as well...

IMHO if you need a schematic for your rig somethings wrong...more power to you BT. I'm sure Brad's got one. ;D

Last night I switched the G-System over to the Flexi to see how it fared there - I needed the schematic to get the three connections to the amp correct. The beauty of this kind of system though is that you design it for what you want to do, and then configure it that way, and from then on all it does is serve your purpose. It looks complex on paper, but honestly, all I have to do is sit the rack down and connect three cables to the amp. That's really less than I was doing with the pedal board setup. So its complexity is captured within the rack and outside there you just play.

Because that is what I do as well... I have a G-System since it came out on the market... and I still very satisfied with it. My current setup is what you see on the picture. This is my "Rock" setup. If I play small club gigs I only play the Z with a Mojo Cabinet 2x12" Tone Tubby Alnico H1E. As well I change the pedals regarding the gig I play. My schematic is on TGP: thegearpage.net/board/showpost.php?p=1966256&postcount=730

Ah! Yes, thanks, I remember now. I liked your colored schematic very much.

benttop - do you get any tone suckage going through the TC piece? I looked into that at one time and recall (perhaps incorrectly) that the signal gets converted to digital, processed and then converted back to analog - if so, I'm curious if you notice degradation in tone. thanks!

I looked into that at one time and recall (perhaps incorrectly) that the signal gets converted to digital, processed and then converted back to analog - if so, I'm curious if you notice degradation in tone. thanks! Actually there were some issues, but not where you think. You're right that the guitar signal is digitized, passed through some effects, converted back to analog, passed through some loops, then out to the preamp. Then the preamp out comes back in, is digitized again, runs through all the post preamp effects, and gets converted back to analog one more time to go back into the power amp. That's four conversions. But the converters are running at 96KHz! The place where I hear a problem is in the amp's loop, not in front of the amp. The Stingray's loop has some losses when I put the G-System in there, but I'm using my H&K Rotosphere as a loop buffer and getting full recovery via that method. It's working sweet. The advantage of all those conversions is that you get some good effects in front of your pedals (filter and compression) as well as pedal board control of your stomp boxes. I can't hear any degredation, so I think it's worth the control. But as always, YMMV!

I FINALLY got to gig this system tonight, and I have to say it works great! I configured some stuff that I didn't end up using, but got some ideas while playing. Now that I've had this one night with it, I know better what's going to work. One thing is none of my effects were loud enough. When you're sitting in your studio it's one thing, but in the band context you need a bit more. But it's so easy to program I just reset the mix level between songs. I found that the compressor does a pretty decent job, and was useful in a couple of places. And I switched on my RC Booster in loop 3 way more than I thought I would. Having that readily available from any preset is great. The chorus was astounding too - this has to be the best sounding chorus I've ever owned, and I've owned some pretty fancy ones. Very cool! I still need to do some work on cleaning up the wiring in my rack though. I'm thinking the smart thing would be to move the shelf down to the bottom slot (where I should have put it in the first place) because having it in the middle of the rack is causing problems I hadn't anticipated. That's how you learn I guess.

Hey ya gotta tell us how it is when ya finally get it all figured out. I have a Triaxis Preamp Ground Control pedal-GCX Switcher-System Mix Plus rack mixer-G-Force-a 2:90 power amp with 6581a tubes-Yamaha rack EQ-a Mesa Studio preamp-and a Mesa 20-20 amp as well. I'm wanting to be able to use maybe the preamp for hot rod distortion and the G-force for Pink Floyd-ish verbs/delays. I just powered it all up again after a 4 year hiatus due to my two Maz Juniors. man, sometimes I think it would have been easier to have taken up the violin!

I'll have it out again this weekend and should pick up a few more things. This place has great acoustics, so I should be able to hear it a lot better. The thing that's bugging me about this is that I've pretty much committed to putting this in the amp's loop, and the only Z amp I have with a loop is the Stingray. I love the Stingray, but I'd love to try the other two as well. To add a second head to the mix entails some other compromises, so <sigh>... It's going to be great though!
