After further review, and two days playing my Ghia from RC (HI Russ!)
and reading this post, I can kind of see what the problem could be.
When I first plugged in The Ghia I really enjoyed the sound, very rich and full.
Very much different than the MAZ JR and SR. I had the tone about
2 to 3 o'clock and volume about 12 to 2, yeah nobody home. What I
noticed was a high shrill when two notes were played together that
I didn't like at all. I switched some tubes and cabinets around, and
same thing. I started reading the post, and then over again, and it
finally came to me after I A B'ed two Z's together. Using the tone control
anywhere past 12 o'clock is like turning all your treble, mid, bass, and
cut, all the way up. So after reading what everybody said here. I backed off
the tone to about 11 o'clock and problem solved. With out this forum it
might have took me weeks to figure it out.
So take the advice of the "Wise Men of the Forum" and back that tone
control down, especially at loud volumes.
