First of all, I'm new here and to Z-Verbs. I'm currently looking at the old (63 to'66) Original Fender reverb units for my '62 (Non-Reverb) Twin. The reason that I'm not going with a re-issue is because I don't like the whole circuit board thing. I guess that I got spoiled by my Twin by having the point-to-point wiring setup. It makes maintenance so much easier. Through my quest here on the web for reverb info, I stumbled upon some info about the Z-verb. I was wondering if he Z-verb has a circuit board or point to point wiring? That is a major selling point in my decision in that I'm a tinkerer with my sound. Thanks.

First off, welcome to the forum. I have to admit I've never had a reason to pull the chassis on my Zverb but I don't believe that the Doc makes any products based on printed circuit board construction\wiring. I can tell you that I replaced a Fender reissue unit with the Zverb and it was a noticable step up tone-wise. I have no problems with well designed printed circuit board products but I was able to replace the Fender unit with a surf green Zverb for $50 (two unrelated Craigslist buy\sell transactions). I liked the Fender unit just fine but I just couldn't pass the Zverb up. The Zverb and the surf green tolex were made for each other.

Make sure you get a ground lift adapter, available at any hardware store for about a dollar. It's good to have on hand. I love my Z-Verb! It's all hand-wired right in Cleveland.

The Z-Verb is point-to-point (or more accurately, hand wired on turret boards) just like the rest of the Z amps.
It's a great sounding unit. I've got both a Fender RI and a $$ Victoria Reverberato and IMO the Z-Verb is the best sounding of the three, beating the Vicky by a slight margin.

Thanks guys. Z-verb it is! BTW, isn't it funny how people come to websites like this one to "get more information" when it's really about getting "more ammunition" in their decision to buy a certain product? Thanks again!
