Hello! I am new to this forum. I have read so many rave reviews about Dr's amps that I would like to try one. I live in Greece, where there is no Dr. dealer, so I will have to purchase it from another European one. I have a Diamond Spitfire 100w head and a matching 2X12 cab and my wife wants to throw me out the house every time I push the master higher than 2...no wonder. I am planning on purchasing a good quality combo up to 20w max and that is where the Dr comes in. I play Les Pauls and I love Led Zep and the Reverend and I am thinking about getting a Carmen Ghia Combo or a Monza Combo with the Brake Lite installed. What would you suggest? You are the experts here. Are these 2 models suitable or should I think something else from the range? I have to tell you, I am leaning towards the Carmen Ghia, but any help would be welcome... Thanks and all the best!

You should try posting this in the Monza or Ghia sections.

Welcome to the forum! I would vote to go with the 1x10 Monza with BL for the sounds you are looking at. You can have it dirty and then roll back guitar volume to get cleans. I am able to set the volume at about 9, drive at 1 and tone at 3 roll off the volume and get a passable enough clean to do Stairway to Heaven (throw in a little vibe to the mix) and still do it in my living room with the wife sitting next to me. Turn up the volume on amp and guitar and out come Billy himself - though the wife is no longer sitting next to me when I do that!
