I love my Route 66 (interstate logo version) but the Galaxie is what I have been looking for. I am delighted. Unfortunately, I can't keep both so the 66 has to hit the road. Feel free to contact if interested - comes with matched quad of GT KT66HPs, about 10 hours on installed set.

I felt bad that I didn't add more of an initial impression on the first post but I was short on time and running out the door.
I bought the Galaxie because I was looking for a good clean tone amp since I felt that I had the dirt covered in my Route 66. My current clean tone came from a late 70s ampeg vt-22 which had been modded with JJ 6L6s, a new hammond transformer and Eminence Red, White, & Blues speakers. It was a great clean sound but at a hefty 100lbs, it was just too much. So...
I plugged the Galaxie (pentode mode) into my Z-best 2x12, and the clean sound was absolutely wonderful - the Z-best adds an incredible ambiance to the sound that other 2x12s don't do. It was much fuller and more well rounded than my ampeg, although quite modern sounding (not sterile, but focused clean.) I have yet to try the triode mode but I suspect since I like a more vintage sound, I'll be playing that the most. I haven't spent enough time with the 2nd channel to say much about it. I'll try to post more later.
I am Thrilled with my Galaxie ;D
