A friend of mine borrows some of my Dr. Z Amps from time to time... He's settled on a JAZ 20/40... I told him the red sound best and he's getting a red one to be sure!

Good of you to "influence" his decision... I mean, what are friends for? Mine's RED, by the way - And it's fantastic... tom

Mine's black, but it sits next to a red Maz Jr. I think that helps them both.

So obviously we can now assume that blonde tolex produces the best sounding amps correct?

Blonde best sounding... Red not so good but usable... I would admit though that if offered free Z amps all in red I would probably not turn them down, even with the inferior tone of the red tolex and all... Karma from blonde and or red tolex fans is welcome of course.

Really? Wow - Guess I better keep my head down round here... My RAY is black with blond... But as long as there is a Z on it...

I had a Blonde Ghia head with a black bottom that sounded pretty good considering its short comings with the black tolex and all. So I wouldn't feel to bad about that Stang Ray of yours.

Anyways to get this back on topic I am glad to hear another got a JAZ I am still really liking mine a lot. I did consider selling it off for a Z28 but that was for purely weight and simplicity reasons, I am fully happy with the tones I am getting from the JAZ.

I'm very happy with mine too Jason... I've kind of gone through a learning period in the time I've been here on the forum. And through reading so many different posts on different subjects and various amps - my mind has been opened up to a whole new way of playing. I'm applying what I've absorbed and trying all kinds of new tone settings - picking styles, etc. At the same time, I've come to really love these Dr Z amps... It's great to hear about someone getting their first Z too... cheers

Well, mine is blonde and it's a lot of fun. My wife is a red-head and is smokin, if I do say so my own self.
But men...You ain't livin' until you get a red-head and a blonde...At the same time!!!!
