I'm pretty JAZ'zed right now! First impressions: Tremendous feel. My guitar feels extra slinky and bouncy. Can do a great Fender Blackface! Again it's the feel and the tone. Can do much, much more than Blackface. Trem and 'Verb are deep and delicious. Why the heck does this amp not get more run? It seems almost like this amp is flying under the radar. Giant, rich, tones in a deceptively small package, heavy, but small. All the gushing about Two Rocks and Red Plate, I've played multiple Two Rocks, owned one, played a Red Plate, This may be some of the absolute best fenderish tone I've used. Nice and solid, but still a great feel. Seems like this will be a perfect gig amp! www.thegearpage.net/board/showthread.php?t=817380

It's an interesting amp - you almost never see used JAZs for sale! In the year or so they have been on the market I've only seen one on E-bay - and we've already seen one Z-wreck for sale! Says something about this amp Have to add to my must get list

Oh yes there will be future posts. What I have to do is get some way to make/post clips.
Many clips out there, notably John Peach and Frankie Starr. They come at the amp from different angles than I do based on the clips. John goes for very raw, rough and ready tones, Frankie is smooth as silk, I'm somewhere in between with my approach while being less than half the player either guy is!

The JAZ is one of my all-time favorite amps. It can do everything I'll ever need and then some. It plays nicely with all guitars and pedals I've used it with.
Anybody that wants a Reverb/Trem amp should own one of these as it does the Fender thing and then some.... AND THEN SOME!

Currently the JAZ 20/40 is top on my list.
I think it has THE WORST NAME of any amp, ever. Even the Peavey Butcher is cooler- in name, not sound.

Currently the JAZ 20/40 is top on my list. I think it has THE WORST NAME of any amp, ever. Even the Peavey Butcher is cooler- in name, not sound. Well the name is derived from the initials of Doc's father, and if you meet Doc he really seems to be all about family and has worked family into the naming of many of his amps. That said, I'm sure there are people who see the name of the amp and think it's a "Jazz" amp, so...

Sure, and from a sentimental perspective, I totally get it. The Doc wins some points for thinking of family in his naming process...
Still, naming something "JAZ" unfortunately comes with lots of unintended baggage. Also, my other gripe with this amp, although minor, is the way the front oval is stretched out. Minor gripe, but still, it looks odd to me. I would prefer the standard MAZ grill cloth.
Still it is on the top of my list, name and front panel be damned!

It would be interesting to see what Harvey might create for a front panel... Maybe an "all wood" head case... tom

I would be interested in a wood front panel for my JAZ head also.

I told you the Jaz was the bomb. My favorite Z to date! Congratulations! Karma sent to you bro! I am completely floored by this amp! It is the Bomb-Diggity! Such a great feel under the fingers. Bouncy, Bouncy! For anyone on the fence, imagine an amazing deluxe reverb capable of twice the volume, twice the bass, no flub, and takes pedals like a Z, and can sound better at low volumes than any Blackface ever made! I can't say enough good about this amp. I just pu my JH-1 Fuzz in front of it and it had me playing "Life Without You" immediately! The amp dealt with the low end out of that pedal amazingly well in hald power mode just now. I am just completely in heaven right now! Just though I'd share some of my enthusiasm!

Gotta stop readin' your posts .... I've got bad g.a.s. for the JAZ .... ;D Btw, favorite guitar(s) with JAZ? cheers always, eh Joel Joel, Dude I think this amp loves all the guitars, but I'm still thinking my CS Shop Strat is...well, I think it's that I'm a Strat guy first. Really dependeing upon my settings all of my guitars really shine with the JAZ, I'm just in that exploring the straight ahead Strat tone mode right now. So the short of that long answer is I'm currently in love with my Strat and the JAZ. I will say this. I think the amp sounds fine with my Clapton Strat as well, but not as good as my other guitars. The MAZ Senior still seems to sound better with my Clapton Strat. I think the stiffer response of the MAZ seems to handle the output of the Clapton better, and when the boost is off on the Clapton, the JAZ has a little bit of a weird high end presence that sounds super Hi Fi that is not there with any of my other guitars. I have to roll the master tone on the guitar way back, about halfway down from the detent or lower(TBX Tone control has a detent at halfway up so 0-5 is equal to 0-10 on a normal tone, then it's capable of adding treble up from 5-10).
