Here's my 2020 guitar rig... Question...what is that switcher pedal on the bottom left of your pedalboard, and what is that strat on the left? Great gear, BTW.

That's a loop switcher from American Looper. That's the compact (staggered) version.
Strat is a CME exclusive run. It's just a standard Fender Player Series Strat, but in Surf Green. I installed Lollar Dirty Blonde Pickups. It's glorious! Thanks

So far, my 2 favorite comp's are the Mini Ego and the Compact Barber Tone Press. Both have the blend knob that makes all the difference.

My über board--still a work in progress but i'm liking it so far. Set up to drive a two-amp rig for the outdoor show we had booked for May--now almost certain to be canceled. Will probably rearrange to run as a wet/dry at some point--basically just a matter of moving the ABY switch from one end of the board to the other.

^^^ It's an Xotic XW1, Russell--compact but still feels like a normal wah, pretty much. Adjustments for bias, Q, treble and bass, and also pedal tension. Plus, the all-important LED indicating whether it's on or off. Sounds good--pretty big sweet spot--perfect size for this board configuration.

Wow ! The guitar, the board, the amps ... that's a sweet rig Flea. Thanks! It's about 2,000% more rig than I'd need for 90% of the gigs we're likely to play, but it's still fun to mess around with. I'm trying to zero in on the optimal two-amp setup for the Lux and the ZW Jr, which sound glorious together. You can't really go wrong no matter how you do it, seems like.

I had a ModFactor and it sounded pretty good until you a/b'd it against the real-deals it tried to emulate.

I had a ModFactor and it sounded pretty good until you a/b'd it against the real-deals it tried to emulate. I like it so far. Haven't gigged with it yet, but the preset setup is easy and it's easy to get to them without having to scroll though 10,000 banks of crazy factory presets, etc. I got it mainly for the convenience of having phaser, flanger, and chorus plus maybe a useable rotary effect in a small footprint. It sounds better than the Mobius, I think, which was over-complicated and sounded kind of sterile--I've also tried the Boss MD500, the EHX Mod 11, and of course the HX Effects. Of the lot, the HX probably sounds best--but it's huge and it's a current-sucking vampire, to boot. The Terraform is a close second, for me--I don't use a lot of mod effects--probably tremolo is the one I do most often (I've got the Diamond Trem for that, which is an awesome pedal), then phaser on a couple of tunes, very subtle flanger on one or two, still exploring the rotary thing--not sure what to do with it. Short version--a thumbs-up for ease of use, versatility and footprint. Some really good effects, some I'll never use, one or two I'm still exploring.

I've been in the process of getting my pedal board back together after my bit of a hiatus. Here's the current iteration of my pedal board. Still have an Analogman Astrotone and Peppermint Fuzz on the way. They are in the process of being built. Then at some point I might fill in a couple more holes. Thinking about a Memory Lane Jr and then some sort of Flanger. But this is where I stand at this point. 20200503_164137~2 by Johnathan, on Flickr

This is the pedalboard i'm currently running with my Z Wrek JR. With the amazing natural amp breakup, it doesn't need any drives on there, but I waited 3 long years for the KOT, so it's going on there no matter what! The Immerse has a lot of stuff on there and is fun to play around with, and the flanger can cover my flanging, chorus and phaser sounds, so with the Dunlop Cry Baby Wah, this little board can cover a surprising amount of sounds. (excuse the Minecraft image on the tv, that's my son watching other people play it on youtube, the kids today eh?...)

All this time, at home, working but staring at the pedalboard wondering what's next. Playing with the Chase Tone Fuzz Fella now!

All this time, at home, working but staring at the pedalboard wondering what's next. Playing with the Chase Tone Fuzz Fella now! With 2 Echoplex preamp style pedals, am I correct in that the EP Booster is used as a solo boost, while the Chase Secret Pre is always-on? I have the same Shure wireless and I like the way you have it upside down so as to not accidentally mute your entire rig when using the wah.....great idea!

I don't know if anyone's told you: It's against regulations to have empty spots on your pedalboard. It's not allowed.

Correct on the EP....mainly used as a lead boost though I may use it to send the Z Wreck over the top but that's in one of those limited "over-the-top" moments, if you know what I mean? The Secret Pre is on and set for sparkle, no volume boost at all. Good catch on the wireless. I didn't figure out that one out for a while....guess I'm not a fast learner. I don't use the tuner on the receiver though it would work upside-down! The Fuzz Fella was bumped by my old Analogman White dot NKT275 Sunface. I can't "not" play it. I hesitate to take it out as it's now unobtanium...unless you're made of money and have a golden tongue capable of talking someone out of theirs. I used to have a Sun Lion with the same transisters but sold it and had Mike build me separate Sunface / Beano. Love them both!

Ha!! Working on it. Definitely working on it. It's definitely getting closer!

Hi guys, I know, as a former Z user I haven't contributed much these last months... but I'm still reading you all with tons of interest and pleasure. And for my defense, the Z-Lux is still the best guitar amplifier I have ever tried! In this very strange era, I changed my mind about pedalboards...After a few years running straight into the amp or with only one or two pedals on the floor, I'm back in the game. My set is minimalist... but I like it a lot! The Fuzz Fella is not that old, but it kicked the Red Velvet out of the picture in the blink of an eye. When you know that the Red Velvet had been my favorite fuzz for quite a while, it says much about what I think of the Fuzz Fella. The Sex Drive is my oldest pedal. Actually I sold it a few years back and was lucky enough to buy it back from the same nice guy one year later. Great great pedal. The ODR-1 was just an humble step in a new to me family of overdrive. It's a home run and it just sounds "right" to me. The idea was if I like this type of circuit I may try to find a nice boutique true bypass version... but I've nothing to complain about and even the bypass tone sounds perfectly ok to me so it's a keeper. The Brigadier is my most recent try in the land of delays, which has been a love and hate type of effect for me for quite some time. I used to have an El Cap a while back, which I liked, but even if the Brigadier has less of a "waou effect" at first try, I think it fits my expectations better. I sometimes forget it's on, but if I switch it off my sound feels so much less nice, big, deep...

Love the board. How is the 69 fuzz? Do you use it with humbuckers?

Love the board. How is the 69 fuzz? Do you use it with humbuckers? I use the 69 with everything. It was my only drive pedal for years. It can be cleaned up completely from the guitar. If I'm using it in a song, I usually leave it on for the whole song and go from clean to overdrive type sounds to fuzz with the guitar's volume control. It's best with single coils but works well with humbuckers as well. It's been my favorite pedal for the 20 years that I've had it.

A lot of fuzzes work best into an overdriven amp or an OD pedal. Do you use the 69 like that....stacked into the POT or into a slightly overdriven amp? I haven't been able to get along with any fuzz, so I'm always curious as to how other players use them.

I haven't been able to get along with any fuzz, so I'm always curious as to how other players use them. My amp is never set totally clean. I've used the '69 Pedal for years with a clone of a late 1950s Fender tweed Deluxe 5E3. That amp is always dirty and I turn the guitar down to clean it up like I do the pedal. The same with my Dr. Z Cure. The volume on the Cure is set to about 1:00 with a Telecaster so it's never really clean. Sometimes I use a Mesa/Boogie if I want cleaner (and dirtier) sounds and the '69 works well with them, even when they're set clean. I never stack the '69 into the PoT. I use them separately.
I really like fuzz pedals and have several.
