Now I see why guys are not immediately posting clips of this amp. Holy cow - for a four knob amp, I've never seen so many different ways to twist the tones around. There are a TON of tones in this thing. I spent about twenty minutes on the Strat, and it kills. The neck pickup, my favorite tone ever, sounds other-worldly. I have never heard my Strat sound like that. The bridge pup is good too, but that's when I switched to the R8. Holy cow again. I have yet to get to the Grosh Tele or the Grosh Strat - they are next. The thing is, the amp can make a lot of different tones, so I expect I'll want to experiment with the tone knobs for each guitar and see where the sweet spot is. I expect that I'll like it set up slightly different for each guitar, but who knows, maybe I'll find a single sweet spot for all of them. One thing - this is NOT a "DIME EVERYTHING" amp. It just doesn't work that way. Your special tones are in there somewhere, but you have to find them. I suggest you start with the tones at noon and the cut at 2 o'clock. But that's not where I ended up. I like the Treble at around 2 o'clock too. What the heck am I doing typing here - I have a new Z-Wreck downstairs!

Exactly. I got an excuse -- my Wreck is down, awaiting tubes. Back to you, Steve.

Ok an update - this is going to take a tremendous amount of time because I can't put down the Strat long enough to do another dang thing here. My poor fangers is bloody! Dang, I haven't played this much in about 9 months or so.
Here's a tip: if you're going to retire from playing, do NOT buy yourself a Z-Wreck, else you get all these ideas about playing out again, and burn down the tips of all your fingers. Yeah, that's the ticket.

No mystery here. When I heard two Z-Wrecks were coming in to Emerald City Guitars, and the first was sold, I called them and made a deposit on the second one. At that time they said it looked like it would be about 18 days out. They were off by a couple days is all. So it's here early, and it's quite a nice amp, by the way. ;D

This sounds like one amazing amp Steve. I am keenly interested in hearing how it sounds with your R8 ! Well I guess it is no great surprise that my favorite guitar is the one I think sounds the best through the ZW. I have this CS Strat here that has the most beautiful neck pup tone, and through the ZW, as I said, it is otherworldly good. It sounds like it is coming from everywhere at once - so 3D. I just played the R8 through there, and my Grosh Tele, and my Grosh Strat, and my PRS slide machine. They all sound great, but that CS Strat - oh my! I can't get off of that long enough to do anything besides grin.
