I just sold my fulldrive distortion pro.........I was using it as my high gain OD. I found it was too over the top, however, for my tastes. Anyhow, anyone using/like the Barber direct drive? The sound clips sound great I think.........
Seems like the $ is real reasonable as well.......

I have a post in the Mazerati section about the Direct Drive. It's a good pedal, but not what I'm after. My Mazerati and Tele have a gorgeous bell like chime, and that quality comes through the Direct Drive in kind of an unpleasant way. I think it's just a matter of the pedal not getting the tone I hear in my head, and it being not well suited for my particular amp/speaker/guitar/pickup combo. All that being said, it's a nice pedal, well made, and definitely worth checking out for the bucks.

I had a Direct Drive SS, but sent it back. It was a a nice sounding pedal, but not a great sounding pedal. It could get some excellent Marshall tones, but it didn't have the "magic" I was looking for. Just a too bit compressed for me. I will say that Dave Barber is a great guy to deal with and all of his pedals are built like tanks. He even uses full size pots for easy replacement.
I love my Silver LTD, but it is not in the same tonal spectrum as the Direct Drive. I will say that the Direct Drive SS is one of the better pedals for that genre that I've tried, but I prefer the Stampede SOV-1. Unfortunately, it's almost three times the price.
Try one directly from Barber or Pedalgeek.com. They both offer a full return policy minus shipping. You might like it.
