It doesn't exist. ;D
But so far I'm pretty happy with what I've got.

I would define it as the ONE pedal I couldn't do without - and that's simple: an Ernie Ball passive mono volume pedal. Yeah, I know you're really asking about pedals that affect tone, but if it weren't for this little thing (with a vol. pot and a 'string') nothing else would matter. 'sides, I can get just about everything I want with just a vol. pedal and a Maz 38.

No, the EB Volume is a pedal and you find it indispensable.
Good answer, good answer! ;D

I can get by without it but for me if I could only have one pedal it would be a compressor. Just for a little volume boost and a slight amount of compression, just a taste for solos. Any good compressor will do. I don't play pop or rock anymore but for those styles the volume pedal was the most useful, so you can adjust the volume and not lose a stroke of rhythm. Right now my favorite pedal is the Peterson Strobostomp but I don't think you were including tuner pedals in this thread. It's accurate as hell and fun to watch.

I am a child of the 60/70's, it would have to be a classic TubeScreamer for the title of "Greatest of All Time".
Billyguitar, My favorite pedal is also the Strobostomp. I spoke with the people at Peterson about a month ago and evidently a new and improved model is to come out shortly. They would not tell me what the changes are but they were all lathered up about it...

It would be nice if the display had more contrast and maybe a little smaller overall. Other than those things I like it just fine the way it is!

A pedal is a pedal. The Strobo is amazing... You remember what we did before tuners became widespread in the 70s? We played out of tune, that's what. ;D

Pre tuners and two guitars in the band with no keys for reference. Those were not the good old days! Imagine being out front of the band and hearing, ting, ting, ting, ting (that's the guitars comparing high e strings) in dreadful, beating stereo. AAAAGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!

An indespensable pedal for me is my overdrive, Budda Phatman. Without this pedal I would be deaf. My Mazerati is way too loud for home use. I got the Phatman so I could at least pretend that I have tube saturation. It was that pedal or a Mini. Maybe soon I will get a Mini and my "best" pedal will be an A/B/Y. I like effects to a certain extent, mostly tone altering and volume boosting pedals. I have AM Chorus, Sunface, Beano, and the Orange Juicer. I currently own 1 electric guitar so these pedals allow me to alter my sound without setting down the guitar, or switching to another Z amp. When I'm rich I imagine that I would rather have different guitars and amps instead of pedals. So maybe the A/B/Y is the "best pedal of all time". Maybe I should get one.

I always tuned to the open A in Queen's "Tie Your Mother Down". My turntable was slow so I was always tuned down and never new it. I thought I could sing, but then I got a real tuner and now I don't so well.

If I could only keep one, it would be my Keeley Compressor.

I can get by with none, but I've grown attached to both my tube screamer (with AM mods) and my English Muffin. I also really love the Rotosphere.

Can't do without my Pete Cornish SS-2/G-2 Duplex. Its indespensible at this point. Absolutely, the most dynamic and touch sensitive and clean sounding distortion unit on the planet.

The perfect pedal is a figment of your imagination, somewhere between lost and found. If there was such a pedal, there wouldn't be 300 variations of the tube screamer. The perfect pedal could cause a rise in the unemployment lines. But we keep searching???

Wrong!! A perfect pedal is something that can do just what I need at any given time. It also has a big enough variation in tones that I won't get bored with it. I have the perfect pedal. It has bbeen with me for 3 years now and will never leave. It's been my main OD the entire time. It's a Clean boost, Fuzz, Treble Booster, Overdrive, and backscratcher. It's the one on the left It might not be THE greatest but it's my greatest.

Laroosco - I also have a Bronto, it seems a bit bright for my tastes. Does yours have the ToneDog mod? I would love to have that done on mine.

Mine does not have a Tone Dog mod but my Bronto is also a bit of a case. I've A/B'd it with 2 other Bronto and it is much fatter sounding than the stock aand Tone Dog modded one for some reasson. It appears that mine is a rare bird. Tone Dog himself had my Bronto for the last couple weeks and couldn't believe the way mine sounded.
