Just got one today, wow...very cool. More gain than anyone could need. It really picks up where the Zen Drive leaves off. It's basically an OD with tons of gain on tap. If you want a Do-All OD, this will work well in low volume and high volume situations.

Hey congrats... still waiting for my zen! :-( Alf says the hurricanes really knocked his socks off, but he's starting to make some head way. He's says he's back at full 100% production again.

Hey Lefty. Now that you've had the Mosfertau for a while, what do you think? How does it compare to the OCD?
Thanks

Personally I think it SMOKES the OCD. To me the OCD seems to have a "hardness" thing to it. Just not very forgiving. And I prefer the OCD in low gain mode for tonal reasons, (vol-9/tone-12ish/gain-3ish). The Mos just seems more natural, it has more of a tube feel unto itself. It has a natural compression just like a cranked tube amp.
I would say the Mos "emulates" OD tones, whereas the OCD creates them. Not to mention the Mos has sooooooooooo much more gain/dist on tap. And it has several more shades to it, crank back the gain, boost the vol and your in Zen territory. The two issues I had with the ZD were the lack of top end, and lack of gain on tap. It was just too smooth, I like my OD's a little rude. The Mos is all that and a bag of cookies.

Thanks for the review. I have been thinking about one of these and missed out on one last night. I feel the same way about the OCD, but have not tried it down low. I have been using the BB for that grit/boost tone. Maybe it it time for a role reversal!!!

Lefty, Do you think the 4 Knob Mosferatu will cover the tonal range of the Zen Drive and then get into a more gritty distortion?

IHMO...yes. The Zen is way smooth, the Mos can be not as smooth and gritty.

Thanks for the G.A.S. Lefty. I am thinking I need a Mosferatu. Well, maybe not need, but I will have one soon.
