Zendrive vs. MOSFET Fulldrive2
I was looking for the perfect overdrive to add just a little hair to my clean channel on my Mesa Mark IV. Right now i play mostly country, i am really into brad paisley and that older country music, but i still do play the new stuff. I am really unsure which to get between these two and just wanted some input if you have gotten to use any of these. I was also thinking about a fulltone OCD but i kind of ruled it out, but you never know.

If you like Paisley you might want to go with the ZenDrive (Brad uses one). I have one on order but I haven't tried one. Plus - I'd much rather give Alfonso my business than Mike Fuller.

DO you not like Mike Fuller? I have heard he can be a pain to deal with, i was just wondering if you had a bad time with him

"DO you not like Mike Fuller? I have heard he can be a pain to deal with, i was just wondering if you had a bad time with him "I always say you buy the product not the guy, but some egos grow really tiresome. And when you've got someone like Alf who is actually a joy to deal with, why look back?

I just received my Timmy pedal - Paul is a textbook example of someone who goes out of their way to take care of his customers. (Great pedal, too!)

I have had one dealing with Mike Fuller....and it was EXCELLENT!
A few years back my FDII died...I emailed Mike on a Sunday....and got a response within minutes! These emails went back and forth for about 20 minutes..him asking questions, me answering..well it was decided I should send it to him for the fix. I did the next day...I got my pedal back the same Friday! No charge for the fix or shipping. (turned out to be a bad switch BTW)
I've heard all the "horror" stories about him, but I can only judge him on my experience, which was a great one!

I agree it's always "easier" to give your business to a guy who will go the extra mile to help out a customer. But if I like the product, the maker really doesn't matter. I've heard horror stories about Dumble, but you don't see anyone (who can afford them) NOT buying his amps because of it.

I agree that the products sell themselves, but support is very important. I am in sales. I have found out that happy customers will tell a few people, but mad customers tell everybody. To answer the question, a Fulldrive will give you a good grit tone and the boost is cool, but the sound clips I have heard of the Zendrive sound awesome. The Zen drive in on my to get list, and I sold my Fulldrive 2. But mine was not the mosfet version.

I have dealt with a lot of guitar gear manufacturers over the years, and have bought a fair amount of stuff from Fulltone, including Tube Tape Echo #000023 (Thanks Stu!). I have never had a problem with Mike's customer service. As a matter of fact, I had a problem with my TTE where the tape was occasionally getting caught up in the corner roller. I e-mailed him about the problem. He said, "Oh! you've got one of the real early ones with the plastic roller! You need our improved stainless steel one. What's your address?" A couple of days later I had a new stainless steel roller in my mailbox. I haven't had one problem with the TTE since. By the way, I received my Zendrive a few weeks ago. It is one heck of a pedal. I've learned to trust Myles over the years. If he says something is great, it is. If it wasn't for him, I would not have discovered Phil Jones Bass gear or Moody straps.

Zendrive vs. MOSFET Fulldrive2 I was looking for the perfect overdrive to add just a little hair to my clean channel on my Mesa Mark IV. Check out the Barber LTD or Silver LTD. Dave Barber is a pleasure to do business with. He usually answers the phone himself. Here is a link to some sound clips. www.barberelectronics.com/sounds.html
