I always ran an airbrake or brakelite especially with the doc 2x10s. Even with my inefficient weber 50watt'ers. I liked the way the airbrake/lite softened the attack on a couple of clicks in, which is still plenty of volume. I'm not crazy about squashing the output down to bedroom levels on any amp but it works. Occasionally when using the webers the airbrake/brakelite would be on 0 when the band got loud. The usual setting was 2 clicks in to start and as the band started playing louder I would go to 1 click.
