I recently did a trade for a Rx Jr. head with a 2x10 Avatar cabinet. Will probably be a week or so before it lands but I'm curious to know how you might think it will compare to my Carmen Ghia? The CG is a wonderful amp but occasionally I'll wish it had just a bit more headroom. Will the Rx Jr deliver that? Also wondering if the Rx Jr. will be safe to use with my 1x12 Z cab with the 15 watt Celestion Blue? The CG is also an 18 watt amp and I've never had any problem but my understanding is that the Rx Jr. is a louder 18 watts if that makes any sense!

Congratulations. The Jr. will give you more clean headroom, more fine tuning in the tone department and the added joy of a sonic boost with the pedal. Lot's of guys use a Blue in their Jr., so you may have "the speaker" of choice - giving it a touch of the classic AC15.

Your gonna be happy . Not sure what your Avatar is loaded with as far as the 10's, but mine sounds great thru the Doc's 10's, or a Weber 50 watt Blue Dog, or a Celestion G12h & V30. I've never had a Ghia so I cannot comment re headroom but it has IF you want it. Congrats on a cool amp!

Congrats! Lovin' my RxJr. I have a Ghia as well. I actually prefer the RxJr. The attenuator is awesome, and I like the tonal combinations you can get with the Jr.

Thanks guys. I'm pretty excited and anxious to lay my hands on it. Apparently the Avatar cab has an Eminence Ragin' Cajun and a Weber Classic Alnico. I'd prefer to have one of the doc's 2x10 cabs but we'll give it a try!
